Moisturizer with a built in primer? That’s totally a thing nowadays! First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer for Spring 2017 brings together a moisturizer formulated with superfood ingredients, proteins, and minerals that hydrates and brightens skin. Not to mention, this oil-free formula has a built in primer that will visible blur the appearance of pores and imperfections.

Sounds like Clinique Pep-Start HydroBlur Moisturizer or Josie Maran Surreal Skin Argan Finishing Balm!

Did I tell you it smells like coconuts?

I’m a sucker for nice smelling skincare.

I’m actually really into all these moisturizers with built in primers lately. I purchased Clinique’s Hydroblur almost the day it launched and I’m nearly done with and will be purchasing another pot. I don’t need a hardcore primer as I don’t have finer lines nor visible pores. I love the idea of a moisturizer that smooths and perfect skin as well as hydrates. These formulas are multitasking at their best for sure.

I’m excited to give First Aid Beauty’s Hello Fab Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer a try!

Did you say Coconut? Okay, give me 7. What? Coconut cardboard? I’ll take that too.
    I have a problem…lol…..

I’m anxious to hear your feedback. I have oily skin but still need moisture and a primer to keep my makeup in place and shine free (if only for a few hours). Coconut is the kale of the beauty world. I’m curious to see how this combination works out.

I own this product (and am trying to decide if I should buy another one), and it will NOT leave you shine free at all. It gives a luminosity to the skin that would be bad for very oily skin. Mine is a combination, so I love how the moisturizer seeps into the skin and truly moisturizes it without clogging me to hell. I haven’t decided if it is making my acne worse (I’ve been going through a lot of stress and changed birth control, so who knows?)

I just use it straight from the jars I have bought over the years 😀 Even my family use it and we eat it – Not First Aid tho 🙂 Coconut oil is very good for us inside and out.

I would never use coconut oil on my face (too oily and acne-prone) but I do so love the smell in anything else!

  • Bonnie

PS Kind of random but all the Seventh Generation coconut baby lotion, etc., is on sale right now at Target…

Ooh, I’m curious about this for sure. I love the Too Faced Hangover RX primer & I’m sure a big part of is the coconutty scent – but also the fact that it’s moisturizing. The FAB one is $4 cheaper and has a tiny bit more product. Can’t wait for a review!

Raw coconut doesn’t work well on my hair but I love the smell! I love it in lotion, spray, candles, makeup, etc. I couldn’t figure out what to spend my $25 off $50 on and you’ve solved my problem Muse 😀

When using a moisturizer/primer, when do you apply sunscreen? I have not been using primers regularly because I feel like I already have a ton of layers on my face after applying my BHA toner, antioxidant serum, eye cream and moisturizer with SPF. The Biore Aquarich Watery Gel moisturizer with SPF 50+++ (which you turned me on to!) leaves my skin pretty smooth and ready for makeup. I had been pretty content to use that under makeup without a primer. However, I recently received a sample of Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer and… Holy crap, it made my makeup last twice as long and looking really good For 12+ hours!! I bought a big bottle. If a moisturizer with primer can give me similar results on days when I don’t care about being bulletproof, I’m all in. But…I need sunscreen. Any ideas? Thanks!

I apply sunscreen before anything else 🙂 After that you can apply the rest of the products! yay So glad you like Biore’s Aquarich! 🙂 It’s my fav! My fav is Allie Extra UV Gel Mineral Moist Sunscreen!

      • Cheryl

Thanks! I was not sure whether or not applying moisturizer over a chemical sunscreen would interfere with its function.

        • Isabella Muse

I’ve always applied my moisturizer prior. I typically wait and allow the suncreen to sink in and apply my moisturizer on top! EEP! maybe I’m doing it wrong? hahah!

          • Cheryl

I don’t know. I was looking at Paulas choice website, which has an article on skin care routine’s in the best order in which to apply products.
The article recommends cleansing, followed by toner, targeted treatment (dark spots, acne, etc.), serum’s and Eye creams, and then moisturizer with sunscreen. Since most of the Paulas choice sunscreens are chemical, rather than mineral, I assumed that I should be applying my moisturizer with chemical sunscreen last. I always apply physical sunscreens last, but I generally use those when I am not wearing make up.

She’s the authority, I’d go with what she says! I’ve read numerous articles that says spf first and allow it to sink in and follow up with other products but Paula def is an expert at skincare!

  • Cheryl

Well, since neither of us are lobsters, I assume it works either way! Thanks for following up!

LOL! 😀 My pleasure! I’ve just always applied my SPF first now I’m thinking I am totally doing it wrong haha!

I am obsessed with the hangover primer from too faced, so I wonder how close to that this is!

  • Tina Clarkson

Is this similar to Too Faced HangoveRx ? That gas coconut in Abdul is moisturizing…,

    • Tina Clarkson

      Omg, typos galore… let’s try again…

Is this similar to Too Faced HangoveRx? They has coconut and is moisturizing too.
