L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation ($10.99) is a new full coverage, pigmented foundation that can be used on face or on your body. This launched along with LOreal Infallible Total Cover Concealing and Contour Kit for Spring 2017 at drugstores this month.

Let’s take a look at my review and swatches below.

L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation is what L’Oreal is calling a 24 hour long wearing pigmented foundation that provides full coverage with a natural finish that’s weightless. I thought that perhaps L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation might be replacing LOreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation but the formulas are so vastly different that might not be the case at all.

I wouldn’t say Infallible Total Cover is as pigmented at Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation but I will say the formula is considerably easier to use, blend, and wear due to the lightweight finish. This is a medium to full coverage foundation that should pretty much cover a variety of complexion issues such as uneven skin tone, darkness, redness, and blemishes. However, I do think Lock-It Foundation has a lot more pigmentation. I wouldn’t say that L’Oreal’s formula is going to conceal a tattoo or anything but most common issues that you might look for in a full-coverage foundation formula should easily be covered with this formula.

The most impressive aspect of the formula is the light, mousse-texture that’s thin and very easy to apply. I was a little worried about the finish because I prefer a more hydrating foundation myself with a sheerer finish. I don’t have problematic skin and I like my foundation to have a “my skin but better appearance”. I look for a foundation that’s lightweight, lightly hydrating, and sheer but with enough coverage to even out my skin tone and brighten my duller skin. L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation doesn’t exactly fit into this criteria but I still loved it. It can actually be applied sheerer should you desire but let me warn you a little goes a very long way.

The mousse-like consistency blends like butter! It melts down and conforms like a second-skin and doesn’t adhere to drier areas nor does it set to a dull, flat finish. It looks very airbrushed and seamless on my skin. It wears very, very comfortably and very lightweight. I wouldn’t say I got 24 hours out the wear, I mean who wears foundation for 24 hours right? But I did get a solid eight hours out of it before it began to fade. At around seven hours in not only did it fade but it started to cling a little to the drier areas of my cheeks as it broke down and faded away. But honestly, through most of the wear I thought it looked absolutely brilliant. It wasn’t drying nor was it hydrating but it still looked pretty darn good on my dry skin.

I could be wrong but L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation has the potential to gaining a fast cult following. I kind of wish they introduced a concealer in this formulation as I didn’t love the Concealing and Contour Kit that launched with it but could totally get on board with a L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Concealer that has the same whipped up consistency of Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer.

L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation is very much worth trying out if you’re looking for fairly excellent coverage with a lightweight texture that wears quite long and strong.

L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation is launching now at drugstores and on amazon.com and it should be coming soon to Ulta.com.

Did you try it?

I love the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte and Pro Glow foundations, so I ordered this from Amazon as soon as I heard about it. Can’t wait for it to get here now – thanks for the review!! 🙂

What undertone are you ? Did the foundation match ? Because the pro matte lean more to yellow undertones

        • Isabella Muse

I typically go for a neutral undertone but I’m warm. This wasn’t yellow, it was a lighter beige undertone.

  • Mary

Hmm this looks interesting. Will have to try it. What’s your go-to drugstore foundation lately? I’m trying to branch out from the more expensive brands, and my skin type seems similar to yours! Thanks!

    • Isabella Muse

Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft-Matte Hydrating Foundation is def on love!

  • Claire L

It’s got dimethicone high in the ingredients , not good for my reactive skin. Glad it works for you though! Xx

    • Isabella Muse

mmmhmm! not good for dry skin either but thankfully didn’t pill on me!

  • Lorraine E.R

Nice! I was going to try the maybelline dream matte hydrating foundation but I’ve been using the original L’oréal pro-matte and it worked well so I’m going to try this!!

Hi Muse, thanks for the review. Would you compare this to Tarte’s Amazonian Clay 12hr foundation?

    • Isabella Muse

Hi AJ, this is probably a little more pigmented than Tarte’s formula and also a little less creamier but all in all, they are similar in finish and consistency.

  • Silvia

I found the L’Oréal pro glow excellent. Natural easy even coverage I live it! For even lighter coverage then the Maybelline Fit Me but it is super sheer it doesn’t provide much coverage only evens out skin tone which works for me too since I have decent clear skin except some freckles around the nose.

    Hi Isabella !
I love reading your reviews. I was wondering if as a future post you could review the BH cosmetics galaxy chic palette. It’s a really unique one and I would love to read your thoughts if you decide to review it 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

Thanks Stephanie! So glad you enjoy my posts 🙂 I don’t have that palette but if I get it in the future I’ll def review.

  • Hayley

Would you say this is pretty similar to the Maybelline dream velvet mousse-type foundation that came out last year? It kind of sounds the same based on your review.

    • Isabella Muse

Yes! But this is a little less creamier! maybelline’s formula was a bit softer!

  • Lori

I bought it a couple of weeks ago and I. LOVE. IT. I love the texture, and the lightness, and the “melty-ness” of it! I think this is my new favorite!

    • Isabella Muse

No, L’oreal Visible List Foundaiton isn’t matte in finish nor whipped in texture.

  • Claudia

Hi Muse, do you wear Nars foundation? I think we might be the same tone but I hate the thought of buying a foundation at the drugstore only to realize I got the wrong shade.

  • rachel

is it just me that thinks that the foundation turns patchy throughout the day, help!!!
