L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation Review & Swatches
L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation ($10.99) is a new full coverage, pigmented foundation that can be used on face or on your body. This launched along with LOreal Infallible Total Cover Concealing and Contour Kit for Spring 2017 at drugstores this month.
Let’s take a look at my review and swatches below.
L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation is what L’Oreal is calling a 24 hour long wearing pigmented foundation that provides full coverage with a natural finish that’s weightless. I thought that perhaps L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation might be replacing LOreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation but the formulas are so vastly different that might not be the case at all.
I wouldn’t say Infallible Total Cover is as pigmented at Kat Von D Lock-It Foundation but I will say the formula is considerably easier to use, blend, and wear due to the lightweight finish. This is a medium to full coverage foundation that should pretty much cover a variety of complexion issues such as uneven skin tone, darkness, redness, and blemishes. However, I do think Lock-It Foundation has a lot more pigmentation. I wouldn’t say that L’Oreal’s formula is going to conceal a tattoo or anything but most common issues that you might look for in a full-coverage foundation formula should easily be covered with this formula.
The most impressive aspect of the formula is the light, mousse-texture that’s thin and very easy to apply. I was a little worried about the finish because I prefer a more hydrating foundation myself with a sheerer finish. I don’t have problematic skin and I like my foundation to have a “my skin but better appearance”. I look for a foundation that’s lightweight, lightly hydrating, and sheer but with enough coverage to even out my skin tone and brighten my duller skin. L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation doesn’t exactly fit into this criteria but I still loved it. It can actually be applied sheerer should you desire but let me warn you a little goes a very long way.
The mousse-like consistency blends like butter! It melts down and conforms like a second-skin and doesn’t adhere to drier areas nor does it set to a dull, flat finish. It looks very airbrushed and seamless on my skin. It wears very, very comfortably and very lightweight. I wouldn’t say I got 24 hours out the wear, I mean who wears foundation for 24 hours right? But I did get a solid eight hours out of it before it began to fade. At around seven hours in not only did it fade but it started to cling a little to the drier areas of my cheeks as it broke down and faded away. But honestly, through most of the wear I thought it looked absolutely brilliant. It wasn’t drying nor was it hydrating but it still looked pretty darn good on my dry skin.
I could be wrong but L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation has the potential to gaining a fast cult following. I kind of wish they introduced a concealer in this formulation as I didn’t love the Concealing and Contour Kit that launched with it but could totally get on board with a L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Concealer that has the same whipped up consistency of Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer.
L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation is very much worth trying out if you’re looking for fairly excellent coverage with a lightweight texture that wears quite long and strong.
L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation is launching now at drugstores and on amazon.com and it should be coming soon to Ulta.com.
