So, you totally need Gillette Venus Olay Vanilla Cashmere! OMG! How am I just knowing about this now? Recently, I was at the evil empire (Walmart) and I came across this on the shelf. And obviously, there were at least twenty cans that someone opened squirted. To me this is the equivalent going into a public restroom and finding pee on the seat of the toilet. People, seriously, this is why we can’t have nice things. Why are you peeing on the toilet seat and opening cans of shaving cream and just randomly squirting them. This also happens to be an issue with gel deodorants. People, check your deo before you leave the store because chances are someone mucked with it.

Sigh.

Anyway, the squirted cans worked out in my favor in some odd way because I ended up getting some Gillette Venus Olay Vanilla Cashmere on my hands and fell in LOVE!

I typically feel like every single can of fruity shaving cream smells just like the next. There’s nothing unique about the fragrances and most of ’em all smell identical to the last. So, I don’t pay a lot of attention when picking one. I happened to grab a can of the Vanilla Cashmere and got some on my hands and loved it. OMG! This is so pretty. It’s a soft vanilla cashmere scent that reminds me of Donna Karen Cashmere Mist! It’s such a delightful change from the normal fruity shaving gels I purchase.

If you haven’t already, I highly suggest grabbing up Gillette Venus Olay Vanilla Cashmere!

Love this!

Anyone try it?

You need it!

Grab it at your drugstore or amazon.com, soap.com, or walmart.com.

It’s lovely! It’s a nice break from the normal round of sweet, fruity shaving gels!

Why is it that Walmart inspires this sort of animalistic behavior?? Seriously, every time I’ve gone in a Walmart the beauty area’s are just *trashed*! People open things, spray/spill/scribble/smash/swatch…

      • amy

Target, ULTA, BB&B… It doesn’t matter; this happens *everywhere*, in *every* city/neighborhood. If one really feels the overwhelming need to “test” a product, at least have the wherewithal to use one that is *already* open…

        • Isabella Muse

that would be a good idea but nope, people have a need to open 100 of the same product and squirt it everywhere and paint the display with swatches, etc…etc…it’s disgusting. Bot to mention it makes everything that isn’t open sticky and gross too. and P.S. Even when displays HAVE testers I still see open products. WHY????!!!

It’s so funny you call it the “evil empire”. I go there at least once a week to pick up something. I live in Florida, and Wal Mart is easier to get to than my fav…Target. There is always something that is needed for the household. Be it T.P. (hahahahaha), or Tide. I always go through their cosmetic section. I will take a look at this when I go next time. Btw, I can’t go to WM without thinking I am giving into the EE. 😉

    • Isabella Muse

haha 😀 I just hate all over it! I prefer Target in all honesty 🙂 But yeah, I totally give into the EE sometimes too!

It’s gotten to a point where I always open up the cosmetic I am going to buy – regardless of whether I am at Target or Sephora – and inspect it before buying it. Too many times have I gone home to find that someone else had swiped my new lipstick or dug their fingernails into my face cream. And if I can’t tell if something is new (i.e. lipgloss), it better be sealed.

    • Isabella Muse

I do the same because I always ALWAYS get screwed up with a product that was tested/used/etc so, it’s just instinct now to open it up and make sure it is not used. I also do this with Biore Strips as once I purchased a box and there was one strip inside.

Hi Muse! I don’t know what DK Cashmere Mist smells like, but I sooo wangt this shave gel to smell like Calvin Klein’s Obsession. Please tell me it does?

    • Isabella Muse

um not really Jen! It’s a little less masculine, have you ever smelled BBW Cashmere Glow? It’s kind of like that!

      • JenCz

I haven’t but the online description looks fruity but not in a sweet way. I like bergamot. And its just shave gel after all, how much $ could it possibly set me back even if I hate it, right? I’ll have to give it a smell. Thanks!

        • Isabella Muse

Oh gosh not fruity at all! It’s vanilla 🙂 My pleasure! Hope you like!

  • Minaxi

I totally agree with what you wrote! I had to go through several tubs of Soap and Glory creams at Ulta before I found 2 that were not tampered with. It’s disgusting what people do. The best thing about buying any beauty/bath and body item in the US is that if you don’t like it you can always return it! Other countries do not afford such a luxury to its consumers and yet this continues to happen.

    • Isabella Muse

le sigh! truly it sucks 🙁 And the worst part? It’s grown women doing this! I can’t even say, oh it’s some kid! It’s NOT! It’s people old enough to know better!

      • Sarah

Definitely a pet peeve of mine. If it is not sealed or wrapped, I always inspect the tube. For the life of me, I can’t understand why ALL make up is not safety sealed. The Nail polish section seems to be the worse. Everyone will test it on the shelf. How tacky and rude. My Target looks like a 5 year old went cray, cray with a box of crayolas.

        • Isabella Muse

yeah! nail polishes are disgusting everyone just swatches it on the display how horrible!

  • Bonnie

I was just in Target over my lunch break and looked for this cream…alas, they had another Olay-infused one but not the Vanilla Cashmere! Wonder if there was a run on it due to the Muse recommending it! 😉

I wish I had a Walmart near my area we have one but not too close by. Last time I entered one by my son’s university in Valencia and this one is spot cleaned! I was shocked to see in every isle they have more than you’ll ever dreamed off! Lol! All my WetnWild collection in front of my poor eyes. I went crazy! That is a rich area though and everything is spotless of course. I will not purchase if not sealed no way. My Target in Culver City (LA) is pretty decent actually cashiers, isles are spot cleaned except some Rudy kids who think they have entered Disneyland and the parents are ok. with it. Very few thank God! I also hate people just destroying stores, kids yelling, women throwing dressses and clothes on the racks. Just plain gross! Much rather avoid it all.
Oh! For those who love a vanilla scent grow an Angel Trumpet tree omg! The perfume it releases at night is magical! Both my mom and I have them at our home. The flowers are huge and gorgeous too-except all of it toxic though but does not hurts unless eaten or watch out for kids. Lovely perfume!
