If you’re wondering about Spring 2017 Makeup and Beauty trends you have to look no further than drugstore brands which are currently setting more and more of our beauty trends before any of them hit counters! For example, although very much an older trend in Asia, LOreal paved the way for cushion makeup earlier last year with their release of True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation at drugstores only to have their parent brand, Lancome, release their Teint Idole Ultra Cushion Foundation months later.

Cushion everything started tricking into drugstores soon after with unique launches like Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Cushion Eyeliner + Serum which was the first cushion eyeliner we ever saw at drugstores!

I’m wondering what sorts of trends we’ll see for Spring 2017 in the beauty and makeup world as we head deeper into the season next month.

Here are a few makeup and beauty trend predictions for Spring 2017 that I think we’re bound to see!

I’m hoping I’m right when I say this, PEACH EVERYTHING! With Too Faced’s Sweet Peach Collection launching this week, I’m really hoping this sets a trend for other brands to finally bring back peach for Spring. I’d love to see golden peaches dominating the makeup market for Spring and maybe even into Summer! Although it looks like the standard round up of pastels are also on the way if Kat Von D’s new Pastel Goth Eyeshadow Palette has anything to say about it.

Unfortunately, the highlighting and contouring trend is far from over and it seems to be infiltrating drugstores at the moment. I was never into to it so, I can’t really be over it but I do wish it was over. Physicians Formula has a new Spring 2017 Contouring and Highlighting Palette and L’Oreal just launched their Infallible Total Cover Concealing and Contour Kit but I’m positive they’ll be more highlighters and contouring palettes on the way from a variety of high and low end brands.

I think we’ll be getting one more big round of corrector’s for Spring 2017. Physicians Formula already introduced a Mineral Wear Cushion Correct + Primer Duo in two different shade selections that act to corrector imperfections and First Aid Beauty also has a new correcting cushion available. For Spring 2017, L’Oreal also has a four shade cream correcting palette.

Whole Foods predicted they’ll be a inflow on coconut everything for the New Year! According to them the food trend world is going to be rocked by coconut everything this year. I think that’ll trickle down into makeup and beauty as well! First Aid Beauty already launched Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer for Spring 2017 and Sephora just tarted carrying Kopari. I think we’re bound to see coconut replace argan oil in everything we see for Spring and Summer 2017.

I was thinking maybe just maybe we might see more brown lipsticks this year. Tarte tried bringing back our grunge days earlier this Fall with their round of Tartetist Naughty Nudes Creamy Matte Lip Paint! But so far, this doesn’t seem to one that’s catching on but I feel like the trend might get a bigger push for Spring 2017. We shall see!

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I hope the contouring fad is on the way out too. I see too many women and girls with obvious white & brown stripes on their faces; they think it’s blended but it isn’t. Sometimes when the drugstore brands play “catch up” to the prestige companies on fads, that’s a sign something’s on its way out, and I think that’s the case with contouring and highlighting palettes.

I think nail shapes are becoming more rounded/oval again and less square. I don’t think a lot of people will be wearing makeup in the new Pantone Color of the Year, “Greenery.” Another chartreuse that doesn’t flatter many, although I can see it for home decor.

I hope so too! Really not into it. I agree but lately drugstores sometimes have the upper hand on some trends! Love it for home decor, not sure how I feel about it for makeup!

I agree about pastels. They always roll out some version for spring. Brights, too. I hope they release some darker pastels, maybe a little dirtier version. I love them, but can’t wear the Easter egg colors without looking jaundiced.
I can’t help but wonder if we’ll see more 1980s and 1990s trends. Like with brighter blush and eyeshadow/liners inspired by the ’80s and some slightly grunge-y touches from the 1990s.
I’m thinking contouring is probably getting played out, replaced by shimmery highlighters (until whatever the next big thing is comes along).
I think with the Pat McGrath glittery lip look that she had on runways (and Naomi Campbell wore last summer or fall), that maybe we’ll see more glitter in makeup.
And as for hair, curls seem to be making more of a comeback since we’re seeing more products to pump up or create curls.
I’m also curious about the Too Faced peach items. I want to try the new lip gloss they’re rolling out!

I wonder of Kat Von D’s new palette will give us at! I dunno, contouring might just survive through Summer! ITA on TF can’t wait to try it!

I feel like Tarte Naughty Nudes Creamy Matte Lip Paint are just copying NYX lip lingerie. D:
