Ulta Platinum Member 20% Off 2016

I was going to write a post a few days ago to rant about the lack of an Ulta Platinum Member 20% Off for 2016. I think towards the end of October or maybe it was the beginning of November we did in fact get 20% off but there were exclusions! Fragrance being one of those exclusions. Now 20% off at Ulta for Platinum Members almost includes fragrance and prestigious brands. I was a little shocked at this and disappointed. Fast forward and Black Friday has passed and we are well on our way to the final days of Christmas Shopping and still no 20% off.

But today, a Christmas miracle happened! A card came in my mail to alert me that, indeed the Ulta Platinum Member 20% off is still on and it includes fragrance as well as anything else you desire.

You know what the really, really, really good news is?

You can use your discount from now until December 24th. Know what that means? It means you’ll be able to get the Too Faced Sweet Peach Spring 2017 Collection with your discount! The collection launches at Ulta.com starting December 15th. Sadly, it’s in stores after the New Year so, you’ll have to haul it online at the discounted price if you want it.

My card had a one time unique code. I don’t know if they have plans to do a code you can use a few times. I’m doubtful of that but just grateful for the single use code at the very least. Update: I got an e-mail this morning with an additional unique code as well as a clickable coupon to print.

    Great news Muse. I hope I get my card in the mail. I am platinum. Otherwise I will call customer service. I definitely want to get the TF sweet peach blush and glow palette. Not sure of what else to get.

    You know what’s funny?!?! I was seriously thinking this exact same thing the other day. I was starting to question adult a’s sanity! We’re they really just going to let Sephora ride into the sunset with all our business?!?! Hahahahah

      Right??? I remember they did do 20% but I also remember being disappointed because of the exclusions and I was like wow Christmas shopping season is in deep already and still no 20% from Ulta!? Glad it came through 😀

    Huh. I haven’t received a card in the mail since 2013ish, and the last 1 day sale I had to CALL about my coupon code. Ulta needs to get their stuff together bc I’ve been spending thousands there for years. (Hangs head in shame bc that’s embarrassing)

    Ugh I had lost hope of getting the coupon that also works with fragrance. Got my boyfriend the Dior Sauvage set when the 3x points for Platinum was going on but I did use all my points for it so I got a pretty hefty discount anyways. Oh well. Maybe I can get myself a fragrance lol

    I have $139 points in rewards, so I was thinking about the new Dyson dryer. I’m definitely going to stock up on shampoo, conditioner, and all my normal hair products, and foundation and concealer. I need a night time moisturizer, so maybe that, too? My head is spinning with the possibilities

      Now that you mention it, I had a sample of Biolage and my hair usually looks like Chewbacca’s fur but one day I ran out of shampoo so I tried it. Wow my hair looked GORGEOUS. Now I’m thinking of buying a bottle to use for special occassions, no matter how expensive.

      It seems that Dyson is excluded from this perk; Nars, Lancome, Clinique, Dermalogica, Dyson, Beauty Deals, and Beauty Steals, it says in the fine print down at the bottom. Almost no exclusions, but still, some exclusions.

        Not everyone. I’m a platinum member and I got zilch. My Mom got her card on Saturday and I didn’t get anything, for the first time. Usually when I email them about things like this they send me a coupon code with no issues. This time, I got the lamest response – it was like they were taking lessons from Sephora’s crap customer service! They said something like “Coupons are sent out randomly. Keep checking your email and mailbox for future offers.” HUH? So I went back and forth with them and I got this gem: “We can’t send you a coupon because we don’t have anymore.” Complete BS, because they have generated coupon codes for me before. Then after I mentioned that I expect this kind of nonsense from Sephora but never Ulta, they said they would credit me the 20% after I placed an order online or in-store. I’m really surprised that Ulta CS has been so lame with me this year, because they are usually really great. They left an item out of my Cyber Monday order and it took 3-4 emails and a phone call to get the missing item sent, and they refused to do a price adjustment on something so I had to return it & order it again at the lower price. Made no sense at all. Maybe I’ll call today about the coupon but I’m not sure I’ll get a different result.

          Wow, just wow, that’s bad customer service. Keep checking your spam box. I got the code via regular mail and early today via email and my sister got hers via email and my best friend got his via email but not by regular email!

            Left a comment on Ulta’s FB page and they asked for my member # and sent me a coupon that can be used in-store or online until 12/24 almost immediately. Happy I have the coupon but I shouldn’t of had to jump through so many hoops to get it.

      Im not platinum either, So it says “thanks for being a MEMBER”. I got both a mailer & an email, both with different codes. Im pretty sure that I can make 2 purchases, and get 20% off each one. not trying to be greedy but at least I can make 1 purchase now and another when Sweet Peach comes out on 12/14 🙂

    Finally!! I’ve been waiting for this to come around, it definitely feels like we’ve had fewer of these this year. At least one was replaced by the one day only online coupon, but of course everything I wanted was out of stock.

    Guess what? I’ve been Platinum for several years and haven’t received this coupon. I called and Ulta Guest service revealed that this is a raffle. Only some are randomly chosen and not based on Platinum status or not. So not all of us will get coupons. I told them that this was so disappointing that I may have to give all my business to Sephora since Ulta doesn’t reward customer loyalty

      I think that’s incorrect information, Jen. The rep you spoke to misinformed you. I’ve gotten 20% off every year I was a platinum member. Whoever gave you that information was incorrect.

    I am platitium member and I just called Ulta customer service. The lady said they are giving out the 20% coupons randomly and not all members. She gave me a one day only coupon for today only which is not good for next week when TF peach items are sold. I hope I get the card or email. I spent a lot this year.

    I certainly could be wrong, but I thought all Platinum members got these coupons. What **is** random (AFAIK) are the free product coupons that members occasionally get, like a free Clinique lipstick, a free foundation, etc.

    I’ve done most of my Christmas shopping but am still makin’ a list and checkin’ it twice so I can use my 20% off coupon. May wait and see about the Sweet Peach blushes, if they get good reviews. There are a few skin care things I’d like to pick up.

      I think the reps are misinformed. Platinum perks aren’t random as far as I know. If they were, I would have gotten a 20% off for every year I was a platinum member. why am I special to get it every year? If it was random I wouldn’t get it every year right? Sounds weird.

    I spoke to the ulta customer service lady today and she said random coupons are given out and I have been platinum for many years. I did not get any cards or email. All the other years I got 20% off. Does not seem fair. I will try calling again later today.

    I’m getting a lot of emails about this post. People, can’t you just wait? The rep probably meant it’s random timing for everyone. If you’re platinum I’m sure you’re guaranteed one. Some people got theirs later than others. Have patience.

    Well I Facebook messaged them and Ulta sent me a code good through December 24th. Their email said that they didn’t know how this missed my inbox. I checked my spam folder and everything. I think their system is messing up and failing to send it out to everyone. I urge you all to Facebook message them with your Ulta Rewards info

      That’s the same message they sent me after I went on FB. Looks like that’s the way to get the coupon if you haven’t received it. I wouldn’t post my member # on FB though, they ask for it in a private message.

      Wow you’re just asking to make it harder for a rep to do his job. The coupons are coming at different times. It’s only 2pm EST. Having been a customer service rep, I can tell you they don’t know everything about what the company is doing especially website issues. So whoever is doing the technical stuff with the coupons and such are the ones who would know. I would say to wait until tomorrow or the day after. The rep probably said those things because they don’t know when the coupon will get to you and trying to appease you while trying not to make the company look bad. They probably prioritize the big spenders like me and Muse.

        Hmm. I don’t know what you would qualify as a big spender but I’ve spent enough to be Platinum through 2018. I didn’t receive either card or email coupon. After I contacted them, they provided me with a code and their reply was apologetic and implied that it was previously sent to me and somehow didn’t get in my inbox. I checked my spam. It was never sent. I’m glad I contacted them.

          I’m the same. I have about 4,700 point perks, and a Sephora VIB Rouge. Sometimes my points were multiplied but I’m sure I spent enough to be Platinum 3 or so times over. They’ll tell you that to keep you calm. I’m pretty sure they would’ve sent it to you eventually. They have thousands of customers and even if emails can be sent en masse they probably can’t hit everyone at once. I have two emails that are subscribed to sephora, tarte and some other companies and sometimes I get the emails at different times. As I said on a previous post it’s still early in the day and some people got their emails later than others. I wouldn’t go bothering customer service until it’s been over a day or two though. They already have to deal with a lot.

          I am Platinum through 2018 as well and haven’t received anything. I’m annoyed. Did you just email them or how did you contact them ? I’m a bit annoyed. I’ve checked all of my inboxes and nothing and nothing in the mail.

            I emailed them and got nowhere, so I went on FB and left a comment and they emailed me a coupon very quickly. They will ask you to private message them your member #. You can check “visitor posts” on their page to look at the other posts.

    I think I’m going to get one of the SJP Stash gift sets for myself, plus maybe some other stuff. I’ve been really thinking hard about a Foreo Luna for a while, but never wanted to pay full price for it. I’m trying to think of anything else I might want. I’m tempted to get more Whish stuff (the body butter is the best formula I’ve ever tried, super moisturizing but not greasy), but I kind of stocked up when the one day 20% off coupon came out a few weeks ago, lol. In terms of make-up, I literally don’t know what I would order. I just got two Viseart palettes and two brushes from MuseBeauty.pro (they had a great sale!) and a bunch of Demeter scents and several Kevin Aucoin lippies and eyeshadows from HauteLook.

    I really wish Ulta carried niche fragrances! Of course, it’s probably good for my bank account that they don’t, lol!

    I finally got my coupon through Facebook message and then I sent a private message. Then I got my coupon through email. When I called CS in the morning, she said the coupons were given out randomly even though I am platitium.

    Thankfully I did get my card in the mail a couple of days ago because last Spring I was sent nothing. I had learned about the sale a week after it ended and was livid that I as a platinum member wasn’t good enough to be one of the “selected” people who got a card.

    I was told the same thing as other people have mentioned, that who got the discount was random or specially chosen.

    Another thing about Ulta is notice how when you go up to the register you are never told how many points you have so you can use the cash against your purchase? Oh, they will tell you right away if you ask but will never volunteer this information to you.

    That is because they are forbidden by company policy to let you know that you have points to redeem and only will tell you if you ASK.

    Totally different than Sephora, isn’t it, who tell you right away at the register. And all this exclusion nonsense, when Sephora gives you the 20% off you can buy anything you want. Ulta will tell you that it’s the companies who exclude but these same exact companies are at Sephora.

      I too have been curious as to why Ulta “can’t” discount certain prestige brands when Sephora (or even Nordstrom at times) will do it.

    I don’t know if this is the right place to ask, but I ordered a Laura Mercier bronzer on Macys.com, and when I got it theres a little finger print on it! The germophobe side of me wants to return it, while my rational side feels like I could clean it and it’s not a big deal. It’s going on my face, not my eyes or lips so maybe it’ll be ok. It’s very small and the person who packed it must’ve touched it a little to see how it looks. What would you do Muse, everyone?

            I don’t mean so much returning shoes if they don’t fit but jeez don’t resell to me after someone walked outside with them :-O It was the Nike City Collection and I was shocked! Still though, I’d kind out me squeaked out if a fingerprint was in a makeup product I purchased new!

            You know, I thought about this for a long time. Why are makeup not sealed?? Especially thing like lipglosses, mascara, or anything else you can’t inspect. Makeup should be sealed and if the seal has been taken of they should be thrown out, and if not then they can be resold.

      Return, for sure, if it’s not too much trouble. You’re right, you’d probably be fine, but it’s the principle of the thing. They won’t give you a hard time.

          Not saying they do… but maybe. I should’ve bought from Sephora, I never had this problem with them. Not that it doesn’t happen, but not to me. Missed the coupon sale though and Ulta doesn’t sell LM :/
