About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I just picked up one of Wet N Wild’s cushion lipsticks yesterday. My store didn’t have the other cushion items in stock or I would have picked up the correctors.

I just tried my first – Laneige Anti-Aging in 11C, which was the lightest cool undertoned shade they have. I’m actually enjoying it quite a bit, but the J. Cat you mentioned is such a terrific price that I’m interested to know what you think of it in terms of how long-lasting it is. That is my problem with the Laneige; when I remove my makeup at night, there’s little-to-nothing there!

    • Isabella Muse

yeah, most cushions seem to have a shorter wear :-/ I’ll let ya know on the J Cat if I try!

I’m really loving Lancome Teint Idole, strangely enough. I love cushions, but I have not been using many this winter. I have Clio Kill Cover Ampoule cushion in my stash, which I hope is very moisturizing. I really want the Diorskin Forever Perfect Cushion, but it doesn’t seem to be available in the US just yet. Too much makeup. Have you tried the Addiction Skincare foundation? Very moisturizing, and your skin but better. You can use it as moisturizer/primer/makeup, but I haven’t yet tried it w/o moisturizer.

The Diorskin Forever Perfect Cushion is available in the US 🙂 I like Clio Kill Cover myself, lightly hydrating! I haven’t, just the color cosmetics. I’ll have to check it out!!!!!!!!

Where is it available? I can’t find it on their website, or anywhere else 🙁 I must have it.

I have link in this post for it. It’s available at nordstrom, sephora, macys, etc..

          • Jes

Hmm. I thought it had a black case, and was part of the Forever Perfect line. I’ll have to do some more research.

          • Isabella Muse

hold that thought, Diorskin Forever Perfect Cushion does come in a black case, on counters end of the month, DREAMSKIN is pink and available now in the locations I listed 😀

I recently purchased the Clinique BB cushion compact, and I love it! Really nice, natural coverage that stays put. I like that I can bring it with me and I don’t need a brush. The compact has a nice mirror. The cushion does get a little messy, but the Clinique lady gave me some extra ones.

The Wet N Wild highlighting one really strikes my fancy…. And so did the JCat hydrating one. Until I looked and saw their shade range. Glad to see darker complexions represented, but there’s nothing for us pale folk. Argh.

I’ve been using the First Aid. I like it for days when my skin does not have a lot of discoloration. Otherwise I prefer to use the separate colors of UD correctors. I also picked up the Maybelline and Physician’s Formula cushion foundations and am liking them both.

    • Isabella Muse

I was curious about the First Aid one, it looks interesting but a few people that I know who tried it weren’t quite impressed!

  • Sheena

These are some really neat looking cushions! I’m actually looking at a newer Korean one by Chica y Chico! It’s their Beam Fix cushion it looks awesome! I’d love to see a review from you on it someday if it seems like something you’d try!

    • Isabella Muse

saw that one, fun, but not for me, I’m not a highlighter kinda girl!

      • Sheena

Ah that makes sense :)! I’m not usually either but I want to try it in its primer function since my skin tends to be dull haha!
