Skinfood Black Sugar Honey Wash Off Mask Review

Skinfood Black Sugar Honey Wash Off Mask ($11.50) is an organic black sugar and manuka honey mask that exfoliates, softens, and hydrates skin. I thought I’d review a few of my favorite Skinfood masks this week because Ulta recently started carrying a small collection of this Korean brand plus it’s on sale for Buy 1, Get 1 40% off as well as an extra 20% off using the Ulta coupon code 400295.

I’ve mentioned quite a few times in the past that I’m obsessed with sheet masks but lately I’ve been using a lot more cream and liquid masks. I blame it on the beauty industry as most brands have been force feeding me the joys of regular old traditional masks and all of a sudden I’m finding some new love in them.

Skinfood Black Sugar Honey Wash Off Mask comes housed in a 3.52 oz pot which is a very generous size. I can get nearly a year of masks out of this pot when using it weekly.

When you first open the pot the mask looks like a dual-phase product of sorts so, replace the lid, shake it up, and you’ll be ready for use when the honey combines with the sugar. It’s thick, sticky, dark brown, and smells like honey and tea. The texture resembles thick honey but it isn’t nearly as sticky as one would imagine. The grains of sugar are quite small and the thickness of the product that the sugar is suspended in makes the sugar a lot less harsher than it would be in a thinner scrub. If you’re wondering if reminds me of Farmacy Honey Potion Warming Face Mask, it does not. Farmacy’s formula is far more thicker and lacks any exfoliating elements.

To use the mask you’ll massage it on a freshly cleansed slightly damp complexion. I give myself a gentle massage with it during the application. Now you can sit around for 15 minutes with it and wait. After 15 minutes you’ll rinse with cool water and massage a little more harder this time around to take advantage of the exfoliating action of the sugar. The mask isn’t tacky, sticky, nor difficult to remove. It rinses clean off and leaves skin very, very smooth and soft but not tight or stripped. I’m always impressed with how well it exfoliates without stripping my already dry skin.

If you’re dull, dry skin is in need of a little exfoliating this little mask will take care of the job and leave you with smoother, softer skin.

I LOVE this stuff. Got it in a Memebox. I keep my tub of this in the shower. Put it on when I get in and scrub off at the end. Always makes my skin feel great!

I am suddenly obsessed with masks as well! I’m getting older and am really focusing on getting my skin in the best shape possible. I haven’t tried this one yet but have been using a lot of The Body Shop’s masks. Really obsessed with sheet masks too.

Have you tried any of the Formula 10.0.06 masks/scrubs from Ulta? I really want to try them but there aren’t a whole lot of reviews on them out there.

If I come across something that interests me will pick it up and let ya know 🙂

If you check the formula 10.0.6 masks on cosdna.com, most of them are really bad for your skin and will cause more issues than help. I own all of them and while they make your skin soft right after using, I broke out so so SO bad from them a couple days after using them. Might be different for everyone though, who knows.

I just bought this and the Hot Pore Pack mask stuff (in a brown/black squeeze tube) on a whim after reading your review. I’m excited to try! I hope it doesn’t over moisturize my already oily skin…

I bought this a week ago at Ulta. It is fantastic! I have normal/dry skin and it left my skin very soft and smooth. Great price point and there is a ton of product in the pot

Sounds great. Must give a try. With this deal I would like to get one for myself and for my daughter. Thanks!
