Becca Prismatic Amethyst Shimmering Skin Perfector for Spring 2017

Becca Prismatic Amethyst Shimmering Skin Perfector ($38) is new lavender duo-chrome finish highlighter arrives just in time for Spring 2017. I was just talking about cool and unusual highlighters a few days ago. Everyone seems to really love all over lilac but I can’t quite pull it off myself.

I must admit, it’s gorgeous! But I think I might look a little ghostly in it although the shade does capture not only violet but also a pale gold as well as rose pearl with an iridescent sheen that produces a color shift in different lighting.

Becca’s formula blends pigments with liquids to create their highlighters which gives it a creamy feel and texture that doesn’t cake and provides a pretty glow without looking dry.

Becca Prismatic Amethyst Shimmering Skin Perfector is available now for a limited time at Sephora.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. lol! I was considering it but I think it’ll make me look like a ghost! I suck at highlighter!

I agree! A light hand is needed when using highlighter. Here is what I do — I apply my blush slightly above my cheekbones and then use the Becca Opal and taking the same blush brush tap it against the compact and lightly press where I need it. In my case it’s below my eyes, I wear glasses so it kind of gets hidden but I do see it. Usually one tap and press against the skin is enough. Hope this helps. I looked at the Becca site and felt the models using the lighter shades, it really was overdone — looked too glowy!

ZOMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s freaking GORGEOUS! Alas, my skin can’t handle it 🙁

  • Carrie Anderson

I just got this yesterday & was very disappointed. It’s not purple at all, straight up pink!!!

  • Christina Tran

I am the same way! I am always tempted, but I just don’t look good in shades like this. I think it’s because of my olive undertones, and by that I mean a really strong green yellow undertone. Plus, I’m an ultra, ultra, ultra fair olive, so it just doesn’t seem to pair well. Most highlighters are too dark for me anyway, but pairing lavender with my skintone makes me look like an alien. Can you picture it? LOL!

I’m like you! I consider myself medium fair. my skin is light but I def have a warmer tone! It’s strange because lilac is such a popular shade in Asia and it makes Asian skin look so cute and doll-like. If I try it, forget about it, I’ll look dumb!

From a collectors stand point, I NEED this to go with my Becca Rose Quartz… From the makeup junkie stand point, I’m really holding back because like I said on your post about the blue and green highlighters, I want the lavender Jeffree Star skin frost real bad. I don’t want this to be a gateway purchase 😀

    • Isabella Muse

I’m like that! “Oh pretty need for my makeup vault” but I probably wouldn’t use it 😀 haha suddenly you’ll have a stash of green and lilac highlighters after buying one because who can stop right?

  • Sarah

Beautiful, but like you, I am pale and I would look like TWD. I will pass on this and let someone else experience purple highlighter.

  • Ruth

i *had* to have it and don’t really care if it looks awful on! i’m gonna rock that shiz like it’s the 70’s with my crazy highlight! purple is my favorite color and this was just a no brainer.

    • Isabella Muse

go for it Ruth and I know you’ll look cute doing it. Wear purple chucks, it’ll offset beautifully with the highlighter ;D

  • Sjofna

I’ve been wanting a purple highlighter, but I want actual purple- not purple with pink and gold. I was considering this since I do think purple looks good on my pale skin, but once I read that it shifts pink and gold that changed my mind. I’m going to wait since Wet & Wild is supposed to be coming out with some new highlighter next month including purple! And at a fraction of the price.

  • Silvia

Oh! So tempting! Also impatiently waiting to see the newest WetnWild ones out there! Have all the previous ones and love them especially the Fergie I’ll have a Cosmo, also Sangria Castles is a gorgeous bronze, then Boozy Brunch is golden. The rainbow one is not as a fine milled I use it mostly as eyeshadow and light highlight too.
This Becca reminds me of a Gotta B’ Urban highlighter I found at Ross is a pale pink it turned out gorgeous to my surprise and ended up getting another one almost the same but more creamed. Highliters are my passion since I discovered them! I wear it very lightly though would look like a coconut dancing disco otherwise. 🙂
