NYX Stripped Off Micellar Cleansing Water ($7) is one of several new permanent skincare products that NYX launched for Spring 2017. This is NYX Cosmetics first venture in the world of micellar water and it’s a good trip or them so far considering a large 13.5 oz bottle is a mere $7 (cheaper considering Ulta.com has a BOGO offer on all NYX at the moment).

Garnier Micellar Water is the same size and priced at $9.99 so, as you can NYX is definitely in direct competition with them as the budget friendlier option.

NYX Stripped Off Micellar Cleansing Water comes housed in a square squeeze bottle reminiscent of the new L’Oreal Micellar Water packaging.

I’ve mentioned it dozens of times already but I always tend to veer back onto the topic of how I’m more of a lazy micellar water user or one that uses micellar water in a double cleanse. I tend to stick to my regular makeup removal process as I don’t really feel fully clean when using a micellar water. I do like them when I get home lately and simply want to head to bed. In those times they come in mighty handy.

This formula has identical ingredients to Garnier’s aside from Poloxamer 184 which is in NYX’s formula but not in Garnier’s. I didn’t feel the formula was sticky or tacky and it removed about 95% of my makeup. It struggled a tiny bit with waterproof mascara but overall, it removed a majority of all my eye makeup and facial makeup without a hiccup. It didn’t strip my skin nor did it try it out.

I dunno how many people are willing to make the switch from Garnier to NYX if they already use Garnier. But if you’re looking to save a few bucks, the NYX Stripped Off Micellar Cleansing Water does just a good job as Garnier’s formula at a little bit of a cheaper price.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse.
