Jo Malone Coming Soon to Sephora and Stephen King Goodness!

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Jo Malone is coming soon to Sephora and Sephora.com! That’s right, you’ll be able to get all your favorite Jo Malone Fragrances from Sephora now. The original launch date was supposed to be March 28th but it still says coming soon on Sephora’s site! None the less, it’s very exciting news for fans of the brand not to mention you can take advantage of 20% off when the Rouge/VIB Event happens in November.

Yay!

More good news?

The It trailer! OMG! I’ve read and re-read and read It several hundred times. I still have the original paperback I purchased at B. Dalton in the early 90’s. I totally loved the mini-series version because I mean, come on, Tim Curry, need I say more!? I dunno if anyone can do Pennywise as fantastically amazing as him but I’m willing to give this new one a go. I’m a little sad there’s no confirmation of a sequel. We’re only getting the past in this version not the future adult story. But I’m hopeful it’ll do so well that Warner Brothers will be compelled to create a sequel! It’s out in September and I’ll be first in line for a ticket.

Oh hey, but by the way, can we get Dark Tower trailer already? Apparently, cinema owners got a glance at it this week but it hasn’t been launched officially on the Internet yet. And hello, my inner fan girl did a little squee because there’s a brief mention of the Overlook in it. Shut the hell up! I do so love my King cross references.

Until that trailer gets a chance to circulate I’ll leave you Idris Elba’s Valentine’s Day video because it is so worth reposting this!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. the only redeeming thing about the original IT movie was Tim Curry’s performance as Pennywise, otherwise it was kinda silly. as a kid, I borrowed the book countless times from the library and it scared the bejeezus out of me! Hopefully the film lives up the trailer, which looks super scary. I was that kid, teenager, and adult that would read his books till the wee hours of the night and then be terrified to go to sleep. I didn’t own a copy of IT till adulthood but my paperback edition of Eyes of the Dragon was purchased at the 7th grade school book fair, and it’s been read to tatters.

    • Isabella Muse

I loved it. But I think it’s Tim Curry that makes me feel that way ;-D Likewise, I remember I borrowed a bunch of SK novels from my best friend’s mom who was an avid reader, freshman year of high school when staying up until 3 am and functioning the next day was a piece of cake 😀 I couldn’t go to the bathroom after reading because I’d read in the dark and I would be freaked out to walk down the hallway to the bathroom. I was scared something was going to jump out at me since there were several rooms between my own, the hallway, and the bathroom. Haha thinking about it I’m still kind of a wuss because anytime I watch a horror movie or read a book that scares me. I can’t walk downstairs when the lights are out or even put my feet down off the bed for fear something is going to grab me 😀 I didn’t read Eyes of the Dragon as a teen. My teen years were filled with the Shining which I read like three times in one year haha, It, and Salem’s Lot. To this day, I’m still mildly obsessed with the Shining, it’s my favorite. Taking Eyes of a Dragon in 7 grade is a lot! Nerd! 😀

      • Ruth

Book nerd for life!! =) I’ve only read Salem’s Lot once but The Shining still scares me to pieces! The moving hedge maze freaks me out and when there’s sculpted topiary animals, i make sure i keep a bit of a side eye on them to make sure they don’t move. going to the bathroom in the middle of the night was the worst! I lived with my grandparents in an old farmhouse that would creak and groan, after reading SK, i was convinced it was haunted because I was so scared to go to the bathroom or walk down the hall. there’s no sleeping with feet out, they MUST be covered because something could get me and drag me under the bed. I’ve seen/read how that works out and it’s never good! Eyes of the Dragon & The Talisman are my two favorites! I took a horror Lit genre class and wrote my final thesis on The Talisman-that’s a giant big nerd!
the TV movies were always a bit of a let down because they were on regular TV and had to cut out or tone down most of the scary parts-which is why the original TV It is a big giggle fest =)

This makes me soooo happy! I love Jo Malone perfumes and that 20 %off! Woo hoo!

  • Nat

I love the Dark Tower books, and I don’t think I’ll be watching the adaptation. Roland has always been cast in my head as Clint Eastwood from the 70s, and I just don’t like what I’ve seen of the pics so far.

HOWEVER I watched that IT trailer yesterday, and I am SOOOOOOO excited for that! I love that they are doing the proper werewolf; that part of the book was nail biting! 😀

    • Isabella Muse

Me too! But I love Idris so much, I’m like, hells yeah bring it in! You of course seen Silver Bullet I hope and read Cycle of a Werewolf? 😀

      • Nat

Oh yes. Haven’t seen/read it for a long time though; I’ve got it in my stack of books to read! 🙂

  • Jes

Omg. Gtfo of here. My dad let me buy a copy of It when I was 10. Needless to say I made it half way through and I was afraid of drains and gutters and pretty much everything. Then the movie scared me all over again. Curry just can’t be topped. Seriously, I finally made it the whole way through the book via a library audio book last year! King is such an amazing author. I love his memoir. Have you read Dr. Sleep? I didn’t expect to like it, but I ended up really enjoying it.

    • Isabella Muse

I single-handedly blame attack of the killer clowns from outer space and IT for my fear of clowns. I am terrified of clowns because of that movie and the book! He really has a mastermind! I did and omg we are twins! Everyone hates it but I actually liked! I just wanted more shining anything so maybe that’s why I enjoyed it but it did go off in some weird ass directions!

      • Jes

Oooh. Attack of the killer clowns…they were so disgusting. It was like John waters meets david lynch. Of course I didn’t realize that when I was a tween secretly watching it at 1 am. I think you are right, I was also hungry for more shining. I didn’t expect it to be as good as the original of course. I just wanted some fan service.

        • Isabella Muse

LOL! exactly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I was one of those tweens watching it late night and being terrified. But the little clown…omg! so freaky scary! And the cotton candy! like spiders wrapping their prey in web! Ew! I was too, Dr Sleep is total fan service! I have this yearning they remake the shining and do a sequel with Dr Sleep. Please let that be a reality sometime soon!

          • Jes

Maybe that’s why I don’t like cotton candy! Oh, a shining duo would be great. I love the kubrick, but that’s because it’s a kubrick film. I think it would make king happy if they did more justice to his masterpiece.

          • Isabella Muse

LOL! god wouldn’t that be incredible? I’d love a remake. Have you seen room 237? Pretty cool doc! Also, the TV remake with Steven Weber wasn’t half bad (king was involved in it). PS you might enjoy http://www.theoverlookhotel.com they post some fun stuff!

  • Carol

How exciting about Jo Malone. Some of the fragrances sound wonderful but I’ve never tried and I’ve hesitated to purchase without sampling. Hope they get in all of the larger stores.

  • Pandora

Eeeek! This made my day! I can’t help but think that Sephora has read the post you did last year when you asked us what brands we would like to see sold at Sephora when It Cosmetics was being introduced. Brands from my wishlist that they now carry are MorrocanOil, La Mer, the full range of Tom Ford, and now finally Jo Malone!! I would love to see more UK brands like Charlotte Tilbury and Sarah Chapman in the future.

P.S. I feel super bombarded with awesome movie trailers and am not mad about it at all. Can’t wait to see IT later this year. I mean I love creepy, but I really hope that this movie doesn’t reignite that weird terrifying clown epidemic thing where weirdos thought it was cool to dress up in costumes and chase after kids in the park, and scare the crap out of people by running into the street in the middle of the night.

    • Isabella Muse

haha gosh I hope so Pandora 😀 I WISH I had that much influence 😀 I’m really glad they are expanding to more niche brands! I’d love to CT carried at Sephora! Me too, but I don’t mind at all! Movie buff here! 😀 OMG yes that was SO creepy!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Kimmwc03

Excited about the Jo Malone news. I’m a huge fan of most of her fragrances.

IT is too scary for me. Call me a wimp, if you like! Ha ha.

  • Kathryn

Stephen King actually confirmed on Twitter that the It movie is just Part I of 2!

    • Isabella Muse

finally! It’s been unconfirmed news everywhere. I keep reading article after article saying that there’s no confirmation of a sequel. thanks!

      • Kathryn

Yeah, he tweeted the other day that this was “Part I – The Loser’s Club” 🙂 I’m so flipping excited! “It” is my favorite Stephen King book and I looooved the miniseries when I was younger. Everybody always talks about how bad it was, but I thought there were some super-good performances in it besides Tim Curry – Jonathan Brandis as well as Tim Reid.

        • Isabella Muse

I must have missed it! I follow him! 😀 I’m so happy!!!!!! Best news ever! I agree, Tim Reid did a really good job with it!

  • Sarah

I remember the mini-series! But barely! I have a funny story. I was about 5 or 6, and at that age I had a HUGE crush on Jonathan Brandis (bless him). And I saw him on the commercials and begged my mom to let me watch it. She told me it was very scary and not appropriate for my age. I begged and pleaded and she said she would watch it with me but if it got too scary she would make me go to bed.

It didn’t scare me at all, haha! She looks back on it and says she wishes she just stood her ground and said no, she didn’t want to look like a bad mom but I was happy and not traumatized in the least. I may have to hunt the mini-series down again to refresh my memory, I don’t remember a lot of it.

    • Isabella Muse

aw rip Jonathan Brandis! Ha! That’s awesome, it terrified me and I was a good deal older when I watched it. I think it might be on amazon prime or apple tv has it too if you want to rewatch 😀

  • Dora

Excited about Jo Malone (but on a strict no-buy for perfume, at the moment). OMG, IT terrified me. I don’t think I can bring myself to see it — I am a huge baby when it comes to scary movies.

  • J

That’s exciting news about Jo Malone! They’re sold at my local nordstroms, but it would be amazing if they were at sephora too – I already have a list of fragrances I’m stocking up on during their VIB/Rouge sale! My favorite scent of theirs is the nectarine blossom one – it’s like spring and summer in a bottle! Its the only fruity scent that I like!

I read your comments about freaking out about the dark after a scary book or movie – haha I have to sleep with a light on after I read or watch something scary .

    • Isabella Muse

I’m a Jo Malone fan and I can’t believe I never sniffed Nectarine Blossom ;-D That’s one I’ll have to try! LOL! I totally understand 😀

  • Jen Morissette

I have literally watched the IT trailer 6 times!!! I am beyond excited. I remember watching the original on a VHS that my older brother used to record it. I was probably 8 or 9 and I loved it and for some reason wasn’t scared. I watched it again as a teen and was so terrified. I’d think about Pennywise anytime I was home alone or in the dark. Lol. I’ve since read the book a handful of times and it remains my favourite book of all time. I work in a bookstore and recommend it all the time. Not just as the scariest book I’ve ever read but also as a tale of true friendship. I like most was worried that no one could top Tim Curry as Pennywise but I have to say this clown looks scary AF!!
PS love you Muse. Fantastic blog. I read it daily but rarely comment.

    • Isabella Muse

haha I rewatched it a few times too! I wanted to see if I could catch a better glance of Pennywise 😀 I hate clowns because of him lol! It truly is a great book! I haven’t read it in quite sometime and was considering a reread before seeing the film! Aw thanks Jen! xoxoxoxoo!

  • Chris

I remember the mini series (it was on ABC if I remember correctly). That theme of scary entertainers was done first by Ray Bradbury in his book ‘Something Wicked This Way Comes’.

I saw a counter of Jo Malone yesterday at the Macy’s Herald Square store. I was there looking at the annual Flower Show.

  • Kaitlin

Am I crazy or should there be a spring Sephora coupon soon? Does that still exist?

  • kjh

Does anybody see an obvious MAC collection opportunity? But how can I pay attention to that with IDRIS ELBA right below? Hottest thing since Prometheus stole the fire from the gods. The Wire? Even watched a lot of really dumb movies to get a glimpse. Everyone at my work was melting. All ages, all races. Yes, he is on my fridge, with the rest of the fantasy boyfriends. He is the youngest…many of them are dead! Ooooh. Just dress him up and let me drool.
