Brace yourself, coconut everything is coming for Summer and the new Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(cover) Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist ($39) kicks this trend off. I would just like to be the sole person that stands up to say coconut water extract so doesn’t work for me. I have coconut mists, coconut micellar water, etc…and if anything, coconut water seems to mattify versus hydrate. Am I missing a point here?

Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(cover) Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist formula is a fine mist spray that they call a 24-hour makeup setting mist which hydrates and gives you a dew glow. Hmmm….there’s that glow thing again! Cover FX, Wander Beauty, Glam Glow, they all promise the same “glow” when using their mists.

Marc Jacobs formula promises a dewy glow as it sets makeup and hydrates skin without leaving behind a sticky or tacky feel. This mist is formulated with five coconut actives:

  • Coconut alkanes for lasting wear
  • Coconut milk for deep hydration
  • Coconut water for refreshing electrolytes
  • Coconut polysaccharides to help condition skin
  • Coconut-derived fragrance

Marc Jacobs has a lot going on with coconuts this upcoming season including a new Dew Drops Coconut Gel Highlighter that already launched and a coconut bronzer that will be launching shortly.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Re(cover) Perfecting Coconut Setting Mist is available at Sephora.com.

I got a deluxe sample of this and it left my face so sticky. Did I get a bad batch?

oh no! I didn’t try it yet, according to deets it is supposed to be non-sticky!

maybe try using less or spraying from further away? That being said, I am just terrible at aiming sprays at myself. If I use a hair setting spray I have to put my other hand up or I will end up spraying my eye instead.

I have the MJ Coconut primer and it feels nice going on, and maaaaybe makes the skin surface a little smoother but doesn’t seem to do much. However, I am one of those people who can get away without a primer since my skin is not at all oily. I don’t think I would ever need a setting spray.
