Much to my delight the Skinfood Gummy Bear Jelly Hand Gel ($8) has arrived at Ulta. Granted, Ulta doesn’t have all the fragrances available but I’m not complaining as I’m just happy I can get it locally now.

Skinfood Gummy Bear Jelly Hand Gel isn’t going to rock your hand cream world by any means but you’ll likely find it rather adorable if you’re a fond fan of kawaii beauty products.

So, yes, beauty confession, I have a sort of obscene collection and obsession with Japanese and Korean hand creams. I’ve never made any secret about the fact I love cute makeup and beauty products. Most Asian brands create these adorable fruit and animal shaped hand creams. I noticed Forever 21 is carrying a lot of these lately too.

Like lip balm, I must have hundreds of these laying around in my desk drawers, on my vanity, near my computer, etc…as I’m chronically apply hand cream and lip balm. Favorite pastime!

Needless to say I’m sue you’ve read plenty of reviews on hand creams like this on my blog. Let’s see, there’s Tony Moly Magic Food Banana Hand Milk, B&C Laboratories Sony CP Peach Hand Cream, Etude House Eagle Owl Missing U Hand Cream, Tony Moly Mini Bunny Hand Cream, and a slew of others.

Most have the same formula which is typically a rather lightweight, non-sticky, non-greasy formula that absorbs easily and offers light hydration. They are great for having around your desk because the formula doesn’t make your hands slick nor does it make them greasy. But if you have super rough or drier hands these aren’t going to cut it.

Gummy Bear Jelly Hand Gel comes in an adorable gummy bear shaped bottle. See the appeal? The formula is a lightweight, quick to absorb gel hand cream that doesn’t leave hands sticky nor greasy. It absorbs fully within seconds and offers very light hydration like many others of its kind. It’s a nice pick if you need a little light moisture but not terribly beneficial to super dry hands. I recently purchased the grape on from Ulta but I’ve had the pineapple, kiwi, and orange in the past. The grape one smells just like grape candy! It’s a sweet, fruity scent that leaves your hands smelling like a Jolly Rancher.

Skinfood Gummy Bear Jelly Hand Gel carries only three fragrances but amazon.com and ebay.com has the full line of scents if the ones at ulta.com aren’t appealing.

Do you need it?

Probably not but who can resist the cute?

Semi-related, only. I’m the elderly fan of the pas-de-kawaii, no frills approach. Totally thrilled that Ulta listened, when I requested Cosrx (twice.). Actually, can’t believe it. And they started with three of my must haves. Yay. Oh, yay!
