Ulta Juice Infused Lip Oil Review & Swatches

I picked up a Ulta Juice Infused Lip Oil ($9) online recently because I’m all about revving up renewed interested in lip oils lately. The last year or so lip oils have been an unpopular trend….! They seem to have a brief moment of fleeting popularity but no real lasting power sadly. Milani Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment started the trend last year and more recently there Butter London Sheer Wisdom Lush Lip Oil, Burts Bees Tinted Lip Oil, and Yes To Miracle Primrose Lip Oil have launched. ‘

I have to admit the best of the best though would be Hourglass N 28 Lip Treatment Oil. It’s damn expensive but it embodies a true lip oil in formula and experience.

Most of the new formulas I’ve run across are more a lipgloss texture, finish, and formula but that’s not the case with Ulta Juice Infused Lip Oil. It succeeds as being a hydrating lip oil but also, a very shiny, lacquer-like lipgloss as well!

Here’s my review and swatches.

Ulta Juice Infused Lip Oil is available in six flavors all of which apply clear. These come housed in a clear circle barrel that’s 0.15 oz in size with a flat paddle applicator for application. They actually contain a host odifferent oils like cranberry seed oil, olive fruit oil, grape seed oil, etc….So, they are packed with moisturizing ingredients but I have to admit the formula reminds me more of a lipgloss than an oil.

I wear clear gloss on top of all my lipsticks. I just prefer a glossy lip look and this formula is perfect as an overcoat to add a glass-like shine to my favorite lip color while keeping my lips pleasantly hydrated. The texture is a thicker but comfortable to wear gloss formula that has a slightly oily texture that isn’t sticky nor tacky on my lips. It applies easily and stays within my natural lip lines with migrating. The formula applies like lipgloss that resembles a thinner version of the old Too Faced Mirror Mirror Lipgloss but as it warms up it becomes a little bit more oily. It provides a lacquer-like shine on lips with absolutely no color. I picked up the Cranberry + Pomegranate flavor and it has a subtle fruity flavor that disappears fairly fast after application. The glossiness of the finish is really something to rave here. I’m very impressed with the super shine of the finish. Sadly, my photos do not do justice the super glossy finish! I thought the formula wore for a shorter time at around two hours as it does wear away quite quickly if you’re sipping something or talking a good deal but during that time it kept my very dry lips quite moisture and hydrated. And my lips felt softer after it wore away and even a bit plusher.

All in all, Ulta Juice Infused Lip Oil was a very pleasant formula. I expressed a good deal of disappointment with Milani’s formula when it originally launched but Ulta succeeded very well at creating an excellently formulated oil that shows the characters of both a hydrating lip oil as well as the shine and texture of a lipgloss.

Muse Approved.

These are worth trying.

I got the Black Raspberry & Cranberry+Pomegranate Ulta lip oils. I think they smell good, but don’t taste that great. The formula is thick and a little too sticky for me, but I will definitely use them.
My absolute favorite lip oils right now are the Too Faced Sweet Peach creamy lip oils. I think they smell and taste like candy and I’m obsessed!

    > “Sadly, my photos do not do justice the super glossy finish!”

This is all I needed to know! Glad to see another person out on the internet who prefers the glossy look in a sea of matte liquid lipstick lovers.

(Seriously, looking at all these matte lip products out makes me feel like I’m the oddball for not heading straight for the outdoor paint section of the nearest home improvement store to kiss the paint mixing machine)

Good to hear! I’ve been really wanting to try these. I like both super glossy and matte lip looks.
