Butter London Only Brand Celebrating Pantone Color of the Year With an Eyeshadow Palette

So, maybe the Pantone Color of the Year for 2017 hasn’t really gone over that big in the makeup world. This Spring and Summer seem to be all about unicorns, mermaids, and metallics but Pantone’s Color of the Year? Not so much!

The only brand that really embraced the Greenery shade would be Butter London who introduced a nail polish collection featuring the shade as well as lipglpss sets and more recently this Pantone Color of the Year Eyeshadow Palette.

This one features eight eyeshadow shades most of which are muted grays and browns with a pop of grassy and olive green. It’s actually a perfect Spring palette and should be flattering on brown eyes in my opinion!

Greenery didn’t quite take off in the beauty world this year! Sephora is definately mum on a Pantone Collection but as they say the night is still young so, maybe Sephora will surprise us with a Summer Pantone Collection. I do have my doubts though considering that Greenery feels more of a Spring shade than a Summer one.

Did you like the Pantone Color of the Year 2017?

Were you hoping it would become a trending color for 2017?

The Butter London Pantone Color of the Year Eyeshadow Palette is available now at nordstrom.com.

I’m not as drawn to these colours as I was to marsala. That just was a more “me” colour than lime green is! That said, I bet people could pull off some really interesting and creative looks with this colour scheme.

I think I read on another beauty blog (can’t remember which one though) that Pantone contracts with brands for this collection and Sephora didn’t get the contract this year, which is why they don’t have a Pantone collection but Butter London does (because they got the contract). I don’t know how true that is but it’s interesting!

I love that shade of green, but not to wear. If I had that palette, the green would probably never get used, except to be swatched, though every thing else is awesome there. I need my eyeshadow greens to veer more olive or sage, or have more black to them.
I’m kind of wondering if this rollout will be a dud, or it’ll take a year or more to catch on. Like with last year’s pale pink and blue, you’re seeing that Cover Girl spring offering with the pale blue lipstick — things like that — so maybe it just needs time.

I ordered it as soon as I saw it since I like Butter London eye shadows. I just got it today — the colors look even prettier in person — so I haven’t had a chance to use it yet but if it performs like their other shadows, I’ll be pleased.

Let me know, curious! I’m wanting to get the VDL Pantone one but this looks equally pretty 😀

This actually looks like a really nice palette EXCEPT for the green. It just seems like an oddball thrown in there to me. I don’t think it’s a wearable color for most people. Just my opinion, being older & somewhat conservative!
I always considered Butter London a nail polish brand. Yesterday at Ulta their lip products were on sale. I’m curious how these eyeshadow & lippies perform.

If you pop a little on your lower lash line it’s kind of fun 😀

Actually, I think I’m covered with the Sleek Garden of Eden palette. The colors are quite similar to this palette with lots more greens thrown in. The green shade “Adam’s Apple” isn’t an exact dupe of “Greenery”, but it’s close enough for me!

Personally I love the Pantone Colour of Year – and I have a LOT of green eyeshadows, so I don’t ‘really’ need any more….but it is surprising that more brands haven’t taken up the chance to add in some lovely forest green, sage and olive shades to their palettes.
I don’t really like this palette as there are a few pale shades that are very similar to each other and the bright green shade is so in your face – not sure that many makeup lovers out there would or could wear this colour comfortably.

Ulta has it on their website now. I love green cause it is just so hard to find! On closeup it looks like the upper right is a sage green with glitter?? Sage green yes! – but glitter noo. Need to swatch.

I think it’s GORGEOUS ! I haven’t been generally excited about makeup or eyeshadow lately but just had to order this. Can’t wait til it arrives.

I know this is late, but I bought this palette and loved it! I wish I could find more. Really an amazing eye shadow set. Truly recommend this for everyday looks, and smoked-out evening eyes.
I love how this brighter greenery tone looks.
