I Find Myself Tempted by MAC Metallic Lipstick
Beauty confession, I’m not a fan of metallic lipstick or lipglosses but I find myself tempted by MAC Metallic Lipstick. I always look like Mr Roboto in metallics. They just look frosty and I never get that liquid metal finish I’m looking for. It’s ALWAYS the case with lipsticks, lipglosses, and even eyeshadows that are metallic. The formula looks really frosty on me. My solution? Clear lipgloss! If you apply clear lipgloss over metallics it looks a lot less more wearable. As for eyeshadows, try applying a matte color wash and use a little of the metallic shade blended on outer eye area. Check my Colourpop Muse Super Shock Shadow Review and you’ll see what I mean! MAC just launched a range of metallic lipsticks for Summer in a variety of shades some of which I might actually pull off with my trust clear gloss! Like I’m loving Hades Fire, Pale Rose, and Act So Cool as seen on lips below.
They look pretty good on the swatches above but I imagine they are way more metallic in person. So, I’ll have my trusty clear handy just in case. I might just haul a few of these! By the way, L’Oreal has a display of Color Riche Metallic Lipstick shades up at the drugstore. I’m not sure if they are repromoted shades as I kind of skimmed past them. But if you’re looking for something to experiment the metallic trend with that might a good way to do so.
