Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush New Shades for Spring 2017

I question whether I need new shades of Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush. Do I, don’t I? I’m waffling at the moment if I need these. You see, I’m not a huge, huge fan of Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush. I’m literally ducking my head the moment just in case someone throws something at me for saying that. I was a bit disappointed with them when they first launched because I thought they’d have this gorgeous glow but they don’t!?

Not to mention, the fact that the new shades look so much like the old shades in the permanent collection and P.S. some have been available in past palettes. But, in their defense, I will say promo images are hard to judge from. Just look at Lancome Le Metallique Liquid Shadow in Mocha! It looks red in promo images but is in fact brown.

Anyway, here’s the Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Blush new shades!

Shades:

  • Incandescent Electra (cool peach)
  • Brilliant Nude (deep amber lustrous glow)
  • Iridescent Flash (vivid magenta illuminating glow)
  • Euphoric Fusion (soft lilac resplendent glow)

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I wasn’t a fan of the blush either. Now, the ambient lighting powder…I love that.

Well, I already have 3 of them from the holiday/spring (?) blush palette but I think I will pick up Iridescent Flash (Sephora VIB sale perhaps). Part of me is annoyed that 3/4 shades were in the palette so there’s only one new-to-me shade. But then again I’m glad I got the palette (with a coupon too) because it’s a better bargain. I do love both Hourglass blush formulas.

Such a sacrilege! I don’t love ’em to pieces, either. I got the original trio. Dim is useable in summer only. The others not at all. Got mood alb, which I do like. Will get mood alp in the s sale, but somehow, they work neither as finishing nor brightening products, just read wrong. Idk. Most mid warms look gross on me, although deeper warms/browns/ coppers are ok. Always feel like an old fart for not going gaga over these. Will swatch euphoric, but not holding my breath….

I don’t know why but I love my cheek products to have a marbled or ombré or multi-colored look to them (like tarte Spellbound or bareminerals Select Reserve color boost).

Have you tried Laura Geller’s blush? It’s baked/marble and pretty darn awesome 😀

I won’t be buying these. I don’t want strobing blush. I found the ones in their strobing blush palette to have too much sparkle for me. I already use a little highlight high on my cheek bones, cupid’s bow and the inner corners of my eyes. I’m not looking to be seen in out space.

I’m not a huge fan either. They are my least used blushes! I want to see in person but will pass.

Muse I have seen some brand at Ross I believe they carry 4 shades some name called JL and they look exactly like this. I did rub them on my wrist and they show gorgeous! I been stupid twice and not grab them! Next time! Only for $7.00 the shine is gorgeous! No clue in the brand though? Awwww!

I’ve been meaning to pick up Diffused Heat from the original collection but it’s never in stock for like a year or so. I don’t know what’s up with that, they’re not exactly new products. I actually wasn’t that impressed when I swatched them in store, but I’ve heard that they are blushes that do better on the cheeks and I do love the powders so I was going to pick one up.

These might interest me, depending on how much sparkle they have. I’m ok with shimmer but not glitter. They do look a lot like shades from the initial ambient lighting blush collection though.

I need them all. So beautiful! They sure know how to get into our pockets. LOL.
