YSL Touche Eclat Cushion Compact Foundation ($48) breaks into our beauty world for Spring 2017 in an assortment of eight shade selections. I question whether anyone is thinking cushion anything is brilliant anymore. I’m still an avid cushion user but the trend seems to have cooled off considerably in our beauty world at the moment hasn’t it? YSL seems two centuries too late with their Touche Eclat Cushion Compact Foundation release but most fans will instantly flock towards it because you put “Touche Eclat” on anything and it guarantees in instant sale.

This one is created with for all skin types and has sheer to medium coverage. It uses the same technique as Touche of Eclat to brighten skin and get it glowing. It’s an anti-fatigue formula so, if you’re skin is dull and tired looking this one with brighten up your complexion and give you that gorgeous dewy glow.

This is where we all sit down and have an internal conversation with ourselves and ask, “Do we really need this?” I know I’m having one right now because I have so many cushions currently in rotation it is borderline obscene. If someone opened my daily staple makeup drawer they’d find a good 20 cushions that I’m currently rotating never mind the rest of the ones I have stashed that I’m not currently using.

Shame.

None the less, as a fan of Touche Eclat I should really try this right? It’s my responsibility as a fan of Touche Eclat to try it right? This is me trying to talk myself into a purchase.

Good luck saying no.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Actually, have never tried cushion anything, and the trend seems to be leveling off. One thing about the K cushions that confuses me is how to pick a shade, sight unseen. Usually have to rule most foundation out, due to allergy to chem sunscreen, but even if the formula is ok, then I don’t know whether to pick 21 or 23. Hell, I don’t even know my MAC #, but estimate it to be ~NW 20. Virtually every foundation is to yellow…not too warm, but too yellow. Going to get KGD013, which is the darkest of their cool shades. I can wear the lighter ones, too, my skin, but a tad paler. I cannot believe that in KGD, light to medium is their darkest offering. The Asian offerings seem to be failing diversity worse than US cos, which are no great shakes, either.
