About That Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes Eyeshadow Palette

So, there’s a new, exclusive Peach everything collection coming to Sephora and Sephora.com late this Summer that includes the Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes Eyeshadow Palette. Considering this release is set for the very, very end of August I’d say it was part of the many things that Too Faced has cooking up for Fall 2017 as we already have a I Want Kandee Collection that will be popping up at Ulta and Ulta.com right around the same time.

As always Too Faced is guilty of being an overzealous try hard makeup brand and many makeup junkies are starting to catch on to the fact that maybe they need to slow their roll (especially in the social media department!).

The brand is currently creating a mad frenzy around their new Just Peach Mattes Eyeshadow Palette but that’s just one product of many that will be offered in an all matte line of products which apparently are infused with peach essence. The collection will feature blushes, lip products, foundation, and more.

I gotta admit I saw the open palette and I got a little excited but I wasn’t terribly impressed with the Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette nor the recently released Natural Love Eyeshadow Palette. The quality was so so on both palettes and the colors in the eyeshadow palette, well, they weren’t really the peaches I was hoping for.

If this new palette has a silky, pigmented range of shadows I might just be stoked about it. Because I really like these shades…

But, as we know, Too Faced has been burning us lately hard with their constant rotation of brilliantly packaged makeup with poor formulas. Let’s hope they are spending a little more time and attention on the formula and a lot less of it spent on social media and packaging.

We shall see.

What do you think about this release?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. It really bugs me how they keep recycling shades from old palettes into new ones. I’d be more excited about this one if it didn’t contain a few of the shades I already own in the Sweet Peach palette! They did the same with the Natural Love palette (which I didn’t buy). Wish they’d be a little more creative with their offerings. Thanks for the scoop, though! I hadn’t seen this one yet. 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

Aw my pleasure and agreed wish it was all NEW shades!

I would like to see dupes on this. Like by makeup geek, or colourpop.

  • Renu

I bought the Sweet Peach palette after waiting ages – and after getting the MUR dupe palette first. Naturally, I wasn’t overly impressed – the MUR was a tad more pigmented, and cost far less. Unless I win the lottery or unless this one is on a huge sale, I won’t be splurging.

The colors are great, but dupable in non scented options. Also like the vaguely Asian vibe to the packaging. But, so off tf these days, hell, these decades! tf might as well stand for too fast/too furious. Very off putting.

  • Susan

I actually like the original Sweet Peach palette much more than I expected to, just used it yesterday, and I love mattes but I don’t know if I want to buy these colors all over again. If the formula on all of them is very good then I probably will, but if any are patchy, nope. I miss the old quality of TF.

  • Christina D.

This reminds me of the little tin palettes that TF used to do and that I enjoyed. But I won’t be purchasing this one without seeing some swatches and reading some reviews from trusted sources (The Muse!). Feel free to remind me of that.

    • Isabella Muse

LOL! I will make sure to remind you ;-D I never learn, I’ll totally buy it because I have some sort of weird hope it’ll be amazing!

  • Christina D.

I’m not saying I won’t buy it! The fact that it is all matte and I do like the colors will make it very hard to resist. But I will try to restrain myself and await reviews/swatches…maybe…

I wish they would make a strawberry themed line like the peach one. Imagine the shadows, blushes, and lipglosses; all different shades of red and pink and smelling like strawberries! I would be all over that.

      • Susan

And pumpkin. Can we pleeeeeez have a pumpkin spice palette for fall??? Too Faced? Lorac? Anybody??

          • Melisa Daniels

            Me too!!! I’d love pumpkin!!!✌

          • Susan

DO IT, Muse! Create your own pumpkin spice palette with shadows from MAC or UD or Coastal Scents (cheep cheep) or Buxom, then sit back and become the darling of the internets this fall. 😀

  • Sar

Can we just get a peach, pink, coral and red palette already?

I see maybe 3 shades in this palette that I’d really want but I’ll pass on the palette due to that.

  • Dee

I didn’t get the peach palette and have no regrets but must admit the all matte is tempting. If you are volunteering to be the guinea pig I look forward to your thoughts before indulging.

  • Yelena

too faced will be the end of me lol. but with their pb&j palette as well as the peach pallette, i bet I have most of these colors already 😉

except for the last row of the darker mattes, but i don’t ever used them anyway

  • Danielle

I’m waiting for swatches- been too disappointed by TF lately. I don’t care if it smells like a new born baby and is infused with unicorn tears, as long as the quality is good. My expectations aren’t high for this palette because the matte colors in the Peach palette are dry as the desert, so I doubt these will be any better. /rant

  • Mo

Too faced hasn’t been impressing me lately (PB&H, natural love, clover, kandee johnson) and I really thought I was done with them. But I actually am excited for this! It looks really good! I’ll definitely wait for your review though first Muse!

  • Kimkats

I like the all matte aspect, but I dunno about some of those colors……they’re awfully orange. Imma wait and see what mah Muse thinks of it! (And the I will do exactly what she says, because she’s Muse!)

  • Isa

I’m actually more drawn to this one than the peach palette! I didn’t buy the peach palette and natural love because I find that I already had so many of those soft shimmery lid shades.

This palette looks very appealing to me, but with some caveats. I would like it to be this intensity of colour, but not if it’s actually more washed out. I have some doubts about that because the colour Peaches ‘N Cream looks so much richer in this picture than your photos of your peach palette, Muse.

Speaking of repeated colours, I think I only see one shadow that is both in here and the peach palette? Am I just blind? Or are there colours from other palettes as well?

    • Isabella Muse

i am too! I just hope the quality is there! 😀 The colors look very saturated and rich in this photo but I agree if they aren’t as intense I might not love it. I actually didn’t take a sec to compare which shades were reruns 😀 I’m going to do that right now and see!

      • Isa

Hopefully, they will up the quality of their stuff going forward! They must know by now that people are catching on, since they’ve been getting called out by even big Youtubers for having inconsistent quality. Not that I always trust those Youtubers but it’s still a black eye for a company that depends so much on social media hype to move products.

Mattes seem to be harder for companies to do well than shimmers so I’ll definitely be looking for reviews before purchasing! Looking forward to yours if you do buy it! 🙂

        • Isabella Muse

I feel like mattes have evolved so much in recent years but still a lot of brands struggle with them! I sure hope TF gets them right 😀 I def will buy/review 😀 I’m curious!

  • Sarah L

The packaging on this eyeshadow palette looks nicer than the others because of the hard case and snap closure. Maybe the quality will be there since it’s not a cardboard palette. I have a theory that every too faced cardboard palette is utter crud. I got the natural matte palette for my sister (the classic 9 pan palette in all mattes) and to be honest this sweet peach matte palette looks like her 9 pan tin. I love mattes so I am tempted to get this if the quality is just as good as the 9 pan palette since I don’t own the peach palette. I’m guessing this will have the sickly sweet peach ring smell which is kind of cool but also a turn off to me. I was a die hard too faced fan but I’m starting to ease out with too many releases and lack of quality from said releases and all the PR drama. I wish they would stick to quality over quantity and promotions via PR/youtubers.

  • Eraser

I must have this! I’ll confess that I got suckered into all the Peach stuff they did this spring – I love the whole peach/coral color scheme and those adorable tin containers did me in. However, I love matte eyeshadow even more so I’m sure I’ll be following your reports on this.

  • Francy J

Too Faced stuff is kitschy, and for fans who like to collect their palettes. Some stuff is good, some not. Just my opins….

  • Bren

I am just not sure on this one, there is really only 1 color I like, Peach Sangria, so I feel like I can find a dupe for it. I just ordered the Queen of Hearts palette from Coloured Raine, and it has some colors that are close.
Can you please review the Q of H palette Isabella? I would love your opinion.

  • Elizabeth

I’m very cool toned and generally steer away from warm peachy tones … until I wore some recently (the peachy tone from the Buxom White Russian palette … don’t ask how that ended up in my collection) and actually *really* liked the look (who knew?) So when I see this, I am super tempted BUT I have heard so much (well-deserved, apparently) trash talk about recent Too Faced releases (I own nothing from the brand), so I am going to wait to pull the trigger for some swatches. I think.
