I’m always been terribly attracted to lip plumping lipglosses which made Pretty Vulgar Poisonous Pout Plumping Lipgloss ($22) a rather appealing pick up for me. I know, I know, most of them don’t actually plump lips up but my inner masochist seems to enjoy the tingle and bite from cinnamon laced formulas like DuWop Lip Venom. Poisonous Pout Plumping Lipgloss is apparently infused with a natural peptide complex that acts to create smoother, fuller lips.

Does it work?

Pretty Vulgar Poisonous Pout Plumping Lipgloss is available in six shade selections and comes housed in a 0.17 oz clear barrel with an adorable floral top. One of the appealing aspects of Pretty Vulgar Cosmetics would be their very cute packaging. Thus far, most of the purchases I’ve made from them was simply because I loved the packaging so much! The applicator is a long, straight sponge that saturated well with color and applies it smoothly. The Pretty Vulgar Poisonous Pout Plumping Lipgloss formula contains a natural peptide complex that’s vegan and cruelty free.

One of the nicest aspects of this formula is the fact it’s incredibly pigmented. Let’s face it, the makeup world is filled with plenty of sheer, shiny lipglosses but not a lot of them are pigmented. This formula provides opaque color on a single pass. It’s has the pigment of a liquid lipstick and on some levels the creamy, thickness of the formula is quite like one as well. This is a thicker texture but I didn’t find it sticky nor tacky and it applied very smoothly on my drier lips without clinging to drier areas or falling into my natural lip lines. I noticed a very, very subtle orange-y mint flavor but no fragrance. It does tingle but I wouldn’t say it’s the burn of Lip Venom. I didn’t feel like the tingle was strong, pinching, or burning in anyway and it felt comfortable enough on my lips. I would do a patch test as sensitive users might not feel the same way I did.

Personally, that tingle didn’t really cause blood to rush to my lips nor was there a plumping action because of it. I’d blame any plumping I seen on the thickness of the gloss which gives the illusion of my lips look fuller and plusher. It wore like a champ and I got about 5 hours from it before it showed signs of wear. It had a gorgeous lacquer-like shine not to mention a wonderful color pay off as I mentioned above.

All in all, Pretty Vulgar Poisonous Pout Plumping Lipgloss was a wonderfully long wearing lipgloss with excellent pigmentation and a beautiful glossy shine. I wouldn’t say the formula is going to plump up your lips but you might find your lips look a bit fuller thanks to the thickness of the gloss!
