Revlon Ultra HD Matte Metallic Lipcolor for Summer 2017

There are even more metallics on the way for Summer 2017! The new Revlon Ultra HD Matte Metallic Lipcolor ($9.99) is a retake on the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolors that launched in 2015. Recently, L’Oreal surprised us with a new range of Infallible Paints Eyeshadow Metallics & Infallible Paints Lips Metallics but L’Oreal isn’t the only one embracing this trend for Summer looks!

One of the more interesting things I’m see about Maybelline lately is the fact they are going a little daring with their shade releases. For Summer 2017, they have a range of Color Sensational Matte Metallic Lipsticks in shades of green and blue. The new Matte Metallic Lipcolor gets some of the same treatment with shades like HD Glitz, a navy blue metallic and HD Dazzle a vibrant purple.

These apparently have the same lightweight, moisturizing formula of the original with a sponge applicator for application. As we already know from the original formula these aren’t quite a traditional matte and even have a hint of shine to them. I have hopes the new Ultra UD Matte Metallics will prove as comfort wearing and lovely as the original formulation.

These are available in eight shades so far. I have no idea if they are more but Ulta.com does have eight in stock at the moment. I think it is safe to say it might be a smaller range of shades because they might be around for a limited time.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Metallic Lipcolor are launching soon at drugstores and available now at ulta.com.

Wut. How can it be both matte and metallic? I’ve seen promos and it looks very metallic, not matte. Think you’ll get any for reviews? thx

Not sure haven’t tried yet we’ll have to see 🙂 Yup, I’ll have reviews as soon as my order arrives and I test out 🙂

That confused me too. I feel like those are both texture descriptors.

I hope you’ll be swatching the Revlon and the L’Oreal. I saw the Revlon at Harmon’s/Bed Bath Beyond and was tempted, but passed.
I was kind of wondering how they could be matte and metallic, too, but I guess it’s just more like a metal that’s not polished?

Not sure, but I think these oxymoronic descriptors are meant to convey something that straddles the line between the finishes. We got used to the term satin matte, but those are so much closer than metallic matte, right?

I imagine these to be like the Milani Amore Matte Metallics that came out…last year? They had sort of a brushed nickel finish, and were a long-wear formula, so it settled into every lip line and just stayed there. Lip gloss over the top just made it a huge mess.

I hope I’m wrong, and the formula is much better!

I just did a review on my YouTube about it. They are not matte at all.
