Tarte Clay Stick Foundation for Summer 2017

Tarte Clay Stick Foundation ($39) arrives on the scene just in time for Summer contouring and sculpting. Tarte markets this stick foundation as having 12 hours of wear in a creamy matte formula that’s weight and provides natural medium-to-full coverage. Honestly, they had me at natural finish but lost me at matte! None the less I’m still curious about the texture. Apparently, if you buy a darker shade you can also contour with it. Tarte does so love to multitasking many of their base products as contouring tools, I’m talking to you Shapetape!

This formula is infused with Amazonian Clay and promises a shine-free cake-free finish that’s free of talc. Amazonian Clay actually acts to balance skin so it hydrates as it mattes depending on your skin type. Hmmm….!

It’s available in 13 shade selections and can be purchased now at tarte.com and at sephora.com.

What do you think?

Worth a haul?

I almost pulled the trigger on this until I saw swatches and realized the lightest shade would be too dark for me. Their shade range is lacking 🙁

I’m curious but want to see in store first. I love stick foundations for how easy they are to apply and for travel.Dee

You can contour with basically any product that is lighter or darker than your skin tone. My favorite is the UD naked concealer, they have some nice neutral tones and a good shade range, plus it blends and sits on the skin beautifully. If you are going to give it a shot I highly suggest NOT drawing lines on your face as all the demos seem to do. Put a dot where you want it the darkest or brightest and blend out with a beauty blender. You can always add more. For cremes/sticks I get the best results by applying it to the beauty blender and then using it to put the color on my face. I’ve use face powders and foundation in the past both with good results.
