Covergirl Melting Pout Liquid Lipstick ($7.99) are a new pigmented liquid lipstick that has a hybrid lipgloss and lipstick formula in the vein of Maybelline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paint and Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick.

I actually really loved Color Jolt Intense Lip Paint and I figured if Covergirl Melting Pout Liquid Lipstick was as good as that formula I’d be a happy girl. Covergirl released these in 12 shade selections that are available in some standard nudes, bold reds, and even some shades that aren’t fairly common to the drugstore world like purple and blue!

Let’s take a look!

Covergirl Melting Pout Liquid Lipstick launched with the Covergirl Summer 2017 Collection but was impossible to find in drugstores. I’ve been searching for these everywhere and finally, finally after adventure after adventure trying to find them I was able to locate them at my local Target.

Covergirl Melting Pout Liquid Lipstick are much like Maybelline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paint in packaging as they come housed in a squeeze tube with a slanted sponge application for application. Covergirl does gain points for being a smidge larger at 0.27 oz and a little cheaper at $7.99 versus Maybelline’s $9.99 price tag and 0.21 oz size. If I had to choose I’d probably go with Color Jolt Intense Lip Paint or LOreal Infallible Lip Paints! Covergirl’s formula is no slacker but I find L’Oreal and Maybelline’s formula a touch creamier, a bit more hydrating, and I felt like they had a nice shine to them which is lacking a bit in Covergirl’s formula.

None the less Covergirl’s still onto something here. These are fragrance and flavor-free and have a thick, creamy consistency that provides opaque, pigmented color on a single layer. The two shades I tried were beautifully pigmented. They apply very smoothly without falling into my natural lines and wear for a solid five hours. They aren’t a long-wearing matte formula but still don’t migrate or move during the wear and they do wear for a nice five hours without becoming tacky, patchy, or flaky. The formula is thick but not goopy and wears quite comfortably but isn’t terribly hydrating. The finish is that of a cream without any shimmer or glitter. They do have a very light shine to them but it quickly settles into a cream after a few minutes of wear.

All in all, Covergirl Melting Pout Liquid Lipstick is quite a lovely long-wearing pigmented lipstick! I do prefer Maybelline and L’Oreal’s formula if I had to choose but Covergirl isn’t a slacker here and performs very, very well not to mention they are quite a good deal cheaper than both of those.

Covergirl Melting Pout Liquid Lipstick are starting to launch now at drugstores.

Tangelo looks absolutely gorgeous on you! Like the perfect summery red! I may have to check these out, although most wet liquid lipsticks end up being a streaky mess on me… It seems like all the color migrates to the outer edge of my lips. I’ll have to round up some coupons, and see if one of these newer formulas do better on me!

Thank you Jules! Try chapstick under it. It’s a nice waxy base for it to adhere too 😀

HA! I Just picked one up today at my local Target. Color # 130 “Don’t be Gelly”.
Its a nice berry color. I love it! They are a little drier than the L’oreal ones . But they
leave a nice stain. And as you said :don’t migrate . I might pick up another one . I also like the sponge tip application squeeze
tube feature. They are nice with a gloss over them as well… Those 2 colors look great on you
Love the mascara BTW… (Girl, How do you get those bottom lashes so fluttery??? ) ☺️

Yay glad to hear you like! They look awesome with coss on top! Oh thanks!!!!!!!!! It’s that new L’Oreal Paradise one! 😀 As for the bottom ones I use the it cosmetics lash primer, that little mascara grabs tight onto small lashes and gives them nice length 😀 thanks for noticing!

Ha ! Again , Just picked up that new Loreal Paradise one yesterday ! Cant wait to try it now that I saw it on you .Plus I read the good review you gave it. I also own the tightline black mascara!

Hey Celine! YAy! How’s it going with Paradise? Curious to hear your thoughts! Ha. We are! Twins! 😀

I was wondering about these, you had me at fragrance and flavor free! I don’t mind fragrance or flavor unless it’s floral, which sadly makes me pass on l’oreal a lot.

I LOVE these. I wish they had more nude shades, I’d buy them all! They don’t sink into lip lines and they’re shiny. They make my lips look really smooth.

Too Faced is a little thicker in texture and TF’s formula is a little shiner.

I prefer them to Too Faced’s melted. I have Evan-gel-ical. Gorgeous colour and it goes on much more smoothly than the Too Faced formula.
