About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Aww what! I thought I was done buying for a little bit! I was in a production of BATB recently, I can’t pass this up! Not to mention I’m an eyeshadow palette collector!

  • Christina D.

I’m sure you are not surprised (gasp!) that I ordered the eye shadow palette, particularly since it looks like it leans cooler…I hope. I usually like Lorac eye shadow’s so no harm, no foul…I hope.

    • Isabella Muse

I did too! guilty 😀 even though I wasn’t terribly impressed with the shades in the POTC palette! Hoping this one is better!

  • Christina D.

This is surprising but I actually passed on the POTC palette. I just wasn’t “feeling” the colors and I hate the bulky packaging. In fact, I was really put off by the side-drawer gimmick. If Lorac was going to incorporate a drawer meant for the blush palette, than at least offer a package deal on both palettes.

Emma Watson’s appearance in Beauty in the Beast has actually gotten me to reconsider how I do my make-up, and what I want to achieve. Seeing her soft glow compared with the overly rouged ladies in the village makes me want to really nail that natural lit-from-within look. Basically I just want to face swap with Belle. These palettes all look very pretty, but not sure they’d move me closer to that goal. Will await reviews and hopefully a sale!

  • Shayne A

    Hi Musey!
Is it just me, or do those eyeshadows in the palette look incredibly small? Like, barely fit a brush in kind of small. We’ve seen this before (not necessarily with LORAC) & we’ve seen the backlash (I’m looking at you, Too Faced). I sincerely hope it’s just the pictures making them look small. Have you purchased anything from this collection? Will you be?

    • Isabella Muse

I purchased the entire collection this morning and will review shortly. Honestly, I’m not sure how big they are and it’s hard to tell from the promo images. I imagine they are the same size as the regular Pro but ya never know, maybe they went smaller this time around! As soon as I get the palette I’ll give you details on the size!

      • Shayne A

You’re probably right about the size. I will wait to see your review before I purchase, as I always do with any of my beauty purchases.
Thank you so much for responding, my love!

        • Isabella Muse

I HOPE I am 😀 Aw thank you very very flattered! xoxxoxox!

  • Susan

Wow, I did NOT see this coming! Color-wise, I’d love to have just about everything but that’s not financially realistic. I like most of the shades in the eyeshadow palette, but where’s the really bright yellow-gold like Belle’s dress? I liked the POTC palette a lot more than I thought I would but both palettes could use “more product, less packaging.”

It’s really nice to see that there’s a lot more to a BATB collection than those lipsticks from L’Oreal — did you know they were just old L’Oreal shades with cheap paper wrappers that didn’t even cover up the old shade names? :-O Oh, and speaking of movie tie-ins, if anyone is interested, I saw that Pur Cosmetics has restocked its “Trolls” palette, which looks like a lot of bright, fun colors.

      • Susan

Thank goodness I didn’t buy any of those old recycled lipsticks!

  • Dee

The cheek palette and lip glosses look amazing but I’m going to be good and wait.

  • Christina

I think I just want the lip products for the packaging, but they’re really not the kind of shades I would wear too often. The lipgloss looks a bit more neutral and lighter, so those might work, but I’ve never tried any of Lorac’s lip products before.

The collector in me screams that I should get the palette, but I’m not a fan of Lorac’s eyeshadow formula–too dusty and loose. Decisions, decisions! I thought I was pretty much done with buying stuff for the packaging, but when a collection like this comes along, it makes it hard to resist. Haha!

  • Joley

The lipstick set is already sold out, do you know if there will be a restock?

    • Isabella Muse

I’m not sure, they said it was limited! I’m not sure if they had plans to launch at Ulta or not?! If it comes back in stock and I notice I’ll post!

  • Christy

“Limited quantity” Come on, everyone loved this movie, why do they have to be so annoying about it. I want that palette 🙁

  • Isa

This is a movie tie-in done right! And it’s not like I’m a Beauty and the Beast fan either! The book design of the palette really fits the tale as old as time thing. Clear plastic caps on lipsticks always kind of scream cheap and drugstore to me but not with the lovely rose motif on these! Quite like the colours in the cheek palette as well; one of them might be too light for me but the colours are pretty!

  • Tracy

Am I the only one who is tired of limited edition releases, cutesy stuff (Too Faced), and movie merch makeup (Lorac, Urban Decay)? It really turns me off to brands that do this and it feels like such a cheap cash grab. I know they are cashing in on the LE stuff, but I guess I wish mid-range brands would focus more on expanding their permanent lines.

  • Susan

Just wanted to let you know I e mailed Ulta Customer Service and asked if they were getting the collection the response I got was “to our knowledge this is a limited edition offered on the Lorac website only ” bummer, no Ulta points !

      • Susan

Hi, different Susan here. At Lorac’s FB page they have a video posted where they say Ulta and Kohl’s will be getting limited quantities. I didn’t catch if they said when. So it seems the left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing! I would love to see these in person at Ulta.

        • Isabella Muse

          Thanks Susan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Lisa O’Neill

    Omg!!!!! Gasp!!!!
This ALMOST MAKES UP FOR L’Oreal!!

    • Lisa O’Neill

I didn’t see you posted this yesterday. The lipstick collection is already sold out! Once again, you’ve been a bad influence on me!! I got BOTH the eye & cheek palettes. I’ll call it a late Christmas/Birthday/Mother’s day gift!! Especially since I didn’t feel like there were any fab items at Christmas that interested me!
That’s my story & I’m sticking too it!
I’m like here Lorac-take my money!!!!

      • Isabella Muse

aw sorry hopefully they’ll restock 😀 haha I’m a bad influence on myself not only you! 😀 Enjoy it Lisa hope you love it!
