Revlon Bare Affair Super Lustrous Lipstick ($4.99 at Harmons) is a new shade which represents the city of Seoul that launched with the Revlon Street Chic Collection for Summer 2017. As you may know Revlon introduced 12 shades of Super Lustrous Lipstick six of which are brand new shades. These shades are inspired cities from around the world.

I have a fairly good relationship with Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick. It’s cheap, it comes in a flattering range of shades, and the formula is quite nice. The exception to this is the fact that it smells and tastes horrible. I’m talking to you Super Lustrous Love Is On Lipstick! UGH!

Possibly the best news you’ll hear all day is the fact that these new Street Chic Super Lustrous Lipsticks are fragrance and flavor-free. I have to admit I was shocked when I applied and didn’t taste or smell anything.

Revlon Bare Affair Super Lustrous Lipstick is a delightful dusky nude beige with a warm undertone. It’s a very wearable nude lipstick that didn’t give me a walking dead look. The formula is light, creamy, and slightly hydrating with a wear of around five hours without feathering or migrating. The formula reminds me of a slightly thicker version of MAC Luste Lipstick. It wears very comfortably, applies with tugging, and has a smooth, even appearance on my drier lips.

I loved the shade! It’s a nice natural nude on my lips that pairs up well with a smokier or taupe eye look.

All in all, I was quite pleased with Revlon Bare Affair Super Lustrous Lipstick! The formula, the shade, and the price were just right.

The new Revlon Street Chic Collection definitely has some keeper shades worth exploring.

Look for the collection at your drugstore.

Aw yay Seoul! I always wanted MAC Sunny Seoul & Bite Pickled Kimchi just for Korean references

I really like this color, though. I might have to grab it if I can find it around here. After your post about drugstore makeup being impossible to find, I’m kinda scared!

This one was thankfully relatively easy to locate haha 😀

The smell and taste is what kept me away from these lippies.
    Good news indeed!

Bare Affair IS a nice, wearable shade. No dead look, but would still be fab with the Taupes and greiges. You’re right. I was astonished that Love That Red was included in Street Chic. Now, I know it’s a perennial contender, due to the balance, but OMG, talk about your mother’s lipstick. Mine (who would be 107) wore it, and I’m sure it was one of my first reds. So none of you keep guessing (I had to look it up) LTR debuted in 1951. Talk about staying power! LTR is 66 y.o.!!!

Am I just lucky or am I crazy because I have never encountered Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks smelling bad? It has been a while since I have purchased a new tube but all of the ones I have purchased previously from their permanent line have never had any fragrance or taste to me.

After hearing about this new collection, I definitely want to pick up some of these new shades. Bare Affair looks like a great everyday nude for me.

No no, the Super Lustrous Love Is On Lipstick is where the grossness occurs 😀 That thing stinks and tastes horrible 😀

    • LC

Agreed. Perhaps I’m missing something, but I don’t recall any of my many tubes of Super Lustrous having a scent or taste.

Super Lustrous Love Is On Lipstick has a strongggggg perfume flavor and fragrance. It’s awful.

Hmmm I’ve used Revlon lipsticks for years now, and they are great! I own about 10. Only thing confusing me is – I’ve never had an experience with these being scented at all. It has always been Maybelline & Loreal and Covergirl that had scents. I do remember the Revlon Moondrops (or something) line being perfumed, but never the Super Lustrous line.

    Wanted to share this observation/recollection!

I’ve really liked the Lustrous Lipstick Collection is great 🙂 Super Lustrous Love Is On Lipstick has an INTENSE scent and flavor that is revolting :-/

  • Christina

I’m in the minority but, I actually like the scent, it brings back memories of my grandmother using these lipsticks many years ago 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

it’s nice but it is intense and strong and tastes horrible

First, what shadow are you wearing? So pretty. After hunting for a few weeks I finally found this display at The Christmas Tree Shoppes. I picked up Bare Affair and Bombshell Red. Love them! I especially like bare affair. Its a great nude for my fair skin.

would you believe me if I told you I can’t remember lol! Sorry! I really haven’t a clue 🙂 I’m glad you found the display! Yay! 😀 Glad you’re enjoying Bare Affair! It’s a pretty shade!
