Tarte just dropped their first fragrance ever called Sweet Tarte as well as their new Make Magic Happen Eyeshadow Palette, Dream Big Eyeshadow Palette, Rainforest of the Sea Radiance Drops, and more for Summer 2017. I’m pretty amazed that all this is coming out when they literally just launched the Clay Stick Foundation and Clay Play Face Shaping Palette! The most interesting aspect of this release would probably be the new Tarte Sweet Tarte Fragrance. Apparently brands releasing a fragrance is some new trend considering Urban Decay Go Naked Perfume Oil also launched recently.

Who’s next to create a perfume? Too Faced? You have to ask yourself if they are all sitting around one big table discussing what the next big thing is going to be and suddenly a light bulb goes off above their heads and Urban Decay turns to Tarte and says, “Perfume! We’ll do a perfume!” And Tarte replies, “We’ll do one too!” and the birth of some new Instagram movement is made.

Needless to say, I want to try it. It sounds like it has some very appealing notes.

Let’s take a look!

Yawn. Pass on all of this.

But I do want the Rainforest of the Sea Vol. III eye shadow palette.

  • Christian

Omg! How are they releasing three palettes when they released one the other day! That’s so fast!!! And from the pictures, make magic happen looks like a blend of the other two palettes in this summer release!

    • Isabella Muse

I thought the Dream Big one was unique but the others seem like a rehash of shades!

    • Isa

These 2 palettes and the Rainforest one are blending together for me! I think any look you can do with one, you can do with the others? I’m not just seeing that much differentiation between them.

  • L

I really like the Make Magic Happen and Dream Big palettes!

I just got the Tartelette Matte palette and it’s rekindling my love for Tarte. I didn’t love the Sex Kitten eyeshadow palette, though.

    • Isabella Muse

Dream Big looks quite unique 😀 I was loving it too!

    • Bren

Just bought both of these as I was hanging onto a 20% coupon and it worked! Yea for me! I love the plush formula and the rich tones of Dream Big looks gorgeous!

      • Isabella Muse

YAY! I used the dream15 coupon and it worked a charm last night and got me 15% off!

  • Agona

Dream Big and Make Magic Happen look interesting. I wonder if it’s their Amazon Clay formula.

    • ChynnaBlue

I love that Dream Big palette! Such beautiful colors. I can’t wait to see reviews and swatches of that one.

  • Maria

Muse I also love the Dream big palette. I will wait for reviews and swatches. I am also curious about the rainforest drops. I wonder if it is greasy.

    • Isabella Muse

It looks like it’s an oil so, I’m a little unsure about wearing it during the day!

  • ChynnaBlue

Eco-chic packaging? What’s that? Painted bamboo wrapped around the plastic so the mascara bottles look pretty when they’re tossed into the landfill? I always think it’s funny when companies talk about how eco-friendly their products are and then put them in packaging that isn’t. Tarte has a lot of wasteful packaging and their wrapped up mascara tubes are some of the worst in terms of waste. I like their products, but they need to stop with the eco-friendly pretense.

These incessant releases of all the “latest and greatest” and “must haves” from the beauty industry are making me do the opposite and revolt from most makeup.

    • Isabella Muse

agreed haha! I mean I can’t even to tell you how many instagram posts I’ve seen today and how a slew of magazines are pimping this stuff like it is liquid gold. It’s just face oil with sparkle, let’s all calm down now haha!

    • Silvia

Omg! Exactly! I feel the same way another Too Faced & Mac and I’m going to scream! Lol!

  • Kristin

More like “second fragrance”! Tarte had a perfume in the early 2000’s, back when all their packaging was that almost rubberized medium purple. (You’d think *someone* who worked there would remember that; guess not!)

    • Isabella Muse

Oh I don’t remember that. What was it like. Worked there? Are you saying I worked at Tarte? Because I don’t 🙂 never have!

      • Kristin

No no, I don’t mean you! I meant an employee at Tarte who would remember it/have access to their archives!
As for the fragrance, it’s almost a musky peach kinda thing. I used some for the first time in years and I forgot how much I liked it.
According to the packaging (which I found stored away in my basement) it has “top notes of bergamot, mandarin, freesia and peach, a heart of cassis, Japanese plum, mimosa and peony and a drydown of musk, sandalwood, oakmoss and heliotrope.”

        • Isabella Muse

oh lol! I was like why does she think I work for Tarte!? Hmm that seems a lot like this launch, it’s kind of sweet, musky, and vanilla-ish! I wish I could find the old perfume or a photo of it! Curious minds what it looked like!

  • Jeannette

I just bought the Dream Big eyeshadow palette. It says portable so I am expecting a smaller sized pallet. Can’t wait the colors look AMAZING!!

  • Jaclyn

It’s not actually their first fragrance as tarte had one in the late 90’s/early 2000’s as my friend still has a vial. But for her sake i hope it’s scent is similar to the original one that she loves so much.

  • Jasmine

The very first photo showing all the products against the pink background had me so excited for the Dream Big palette cuz here i thought “oh there’s an actual rusty red palette from Tarte, i might actually buy it!” But then when i scrolled down to see the image of just that palette, it’s completely different from the first pics – same old mauvy/purple tones Tarte ALWAYS uses in palettes -_- This is why i can never trust promotional images, they edit and manipulate saturation and tones in pics so much that various pics of the same products look different all the time. You’d think with all the advanced photography we have today that a cosmetics company would be able to accurately show the actual colors of an eyeshadow palette without misleading consumers but i think i have too much hope they’ll do that every time. Super annoying -___________- This is a complete pass for me unfortunately

  • genevieve

I quite like the Leave Your Mark eye shadow palette as I don’t own any other Tarte offerings. Are you getting any of these Muse?

    • Isabella Muse

yes! Reviewing today 🙂 got the perfume and one palette!
