What I Did This Weekend and A Cool Clinique Sale!

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Good Morning!

Hope you had a fab weekend! Mine was pretty busy yesterday as I had a new bookshelf installed and I felt like I was literally moving house because there was so much to take down and replace on the new shelving unit. The new shelf has lighting installed and it makes my collectibles look ridiculously awesome. I have an Iron Man Helmet that I cherish which cost me an arm, one leg, and my unborn child’s first year’s college tuition at an ivy league school which now has a new beautiful home to live in. But I actually had the shelf designed for my 1/6 scale Doctor Who figures that I’ve collected from Big Chief Studios over the years but I’m happy that a lot of my other stuff fits happily inside the shelf as well.

Saturday was a pretty chill day for me! I was a little disappointed I didn’t attend Governors Ball this year since the weather was so perfect for it! Not too hot, not too cold! But I went last year and was thinking I just couldn’t deal with the crowds this year. So, I hung back and chilled out with my bestie and did some shopping, had some early breakfast after the Sephora VIB Rouge Event, went to dinner later in the day, and saw Wonder Woman. And Friday, I was blessed to see Donovan again because who knows how long he’ll be doing this and at least I can say I saw him twice in concert this year and heard his tall tales about lost hash on the beach and his one line contribution to Yellow Submarine. Good times.

How was your weekend?

Off the topic of the weekend there are some great sales popping up today! On Clinique in particular it looks like!

Here’s some nice deals that I saw at Ulta that are 50% Off:

I’m guilty of picking up the Happy Treats set and Pops of Happy Set!

Happy Monday!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

This is why people don’t like you. You are a braggart. You boast about everything you buy, vacations, cars, houses and more. The majority of the people that read your blog can’t afford it. You live like a millionaire, which I’m sure you are. But stop talking about it. I simply can’t handle the narcissist attitude anymore.

    • Isabella Muse

I dunno if discussing having a new bookshelf put up makes me a millionaire but I’ll take it. In my dreams, I’m def some sort of millionaire, in reality I’m a hard working middle class girl trying to make herself through the world. I don’t consider myself bragging about anything that the average Joe doesn’t already have or is already doing daily like going on vacation or buying a new car (I’ve never mentioned buying a new car on my blog aside from posting a photo of the color of it on Instagram once. It wasn’t even a photo of the whole car not to mention it was Kia not a BMW so, obviously, millionaires aren’t driving around in Kias) but if you’re left feeling that way just skip over posts like this. If you’re looking for narcissists I’m def not it, if anything at all I’m the self deprecating to the max. Believe me if you’re looking for a narcissist there are plenty of them on Instagram and youTube.

I don’t think there was any need to be this unkind. We as readers have the power to read or not read bloggers that make us feel self-conscious about our lifestyles. There are plenty of fashion and beauty bloggers that never talk about bargain brands that average people shop at. It doesn’t mean that I should tell them that they’re unlikeable and to feel bad about that! I just choose not to read.

If this were a blog that was titled “$10 and below beauty steals” and the writer started only buying Lancome and Marc Jacobs products, I’d understand asking what’s going on. :\ But it isn’t.

I feel like Muse is plenty relatable with her drugstore reviews and sense of humor! You don’t have to feel that way. But the generalizations that no one likes a person are not just untrue, they’re uncalled for and wicked-spirited. Just choose to read something where people only buy what you can afford. We have freedom of speech but using it to say things like this is such a waste of life.

What? No one likes her because she’s a braggart who boasts about living like a millionaire? That’s the most ridiculous comment I’ve seen in a while and someone just called me the C word for basically agreeing with him on something. (He was apparently not smart enough to understand that I was agreeing with him?) Seriously crazy.

And now that I’ve seen Big Chief Studios site, I will be down the rabbit hole forever. Those figures are truly amazing.

    • Isabella Muse

lol omg I’ve had someone call me a bitch once when I agreed with them too WTF. P.S. I wish I was a millioniare which is why this statement is so hilarious to me. Oh god please don’t, you’ll go broke haha. I can’t with Big Chief, I just need everything they put out!!!!!!!!

Wow. That first commenter has some serious jealousy issues. If they actually followed you, they would know that you’re a woman who works for your money. It’s not like you’re talking about how your sugar daddy took you to St. Barts for the 10th time this year while your servants are at home washing your Aston Martin. I’ve never seen you post a pic from a private jet with a wad of $100 bills while some ripped guy is pouring champagne on your butt. I’m so tired of jealous little girls trying to rain on a grown woman’s parade. Why don’t you get a job JHunter and some self confidence.

    • Isabella Muse

But just to clarify Brandy, all that does in fact happen in my dreams lol! 😀 xoxoxoxooxo!

      • Brandy

Nothing wrong with dreaming big! I just hate when someone puts down a woman’s success. You earned the stuff that you buy with hard work. There’s nothing wrong with sharing things that you’ve bought for yourself. I enjoy your blog because it helps me wind down from a hectic day.

Btw, I went to a WWE pay-per-view match this weekend (not my choice). It was nearly four hours of a sitting in a cramped chair with a little kid kicking the back of my seat.

        • Isabella Muse

thanks Brandy! thanks a lot 🙂 Thanks for recognizing I work hells hard to have what I have! <3! And I'm glad that Musings gives you and outlet to relax! I can't even express how good that makes me feel. Ha...! Ok, confession, I'd love to go to WWE even with a kid kicking the back of my seat hehe! WWE is like a soap opera for dudes! 😀
