About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I love metallics in theory, but I have enthusiastically purchased the Tarte Make Believe in Yourself and the Jouer Skinny Dip, and I rarely reach for them. Not to mention the gorgeous yet intimidating Juvia’s Place Nubian 2. I guess I wish I had a life where I had more occasion to dress my lids in metallic hues, but my casual office job/mom to 2 school age kids/suburban lifestyle, plus my personality not really wanting to draw particular attention to myself, means these palettes mostly go unused. BUT, that Cinema Secrets one sure is pretty! I should just print out a picture of it and tape it on my wall.

Hey Muse! I was “eyeing” these (no pun intended) but I am not familiar with the brand. Are you? Not sure I want to (or should) start purchasing yet another brand, but they do like nice.

I use their brush cleaner and it’s outstanding but never tried anything else from them! You have a good chance that the formula is incredible as they are a “pro” line of products 😀

I have a 6 singles of Buxom eyeshadows that are metallics. I consider these shades fun to use to change up from using mattes or putting some on the outer lids for an accent. They have their place for usage. Some metallics do have a lot of fallout. I guess applying with a damp brush eliminates or lessens metallic eyeshadow fallout?

damp brush works great or a sponge eyeshadow applicator too works at minimizing fallout!
