Estee Lauder and Misty Copeland Debut New Modern Muse Campaign

Much to my delightful, principal ballerina at the American Ballet Theatre, Misty Copeland, has been chosen as the new spokesmodel for Estee Lauder Modern Muse. Misty’s face will appear online, on TV, in-store, and across print campaigns for the Modern Muse fragrance starting in August.

No offense to Kendall but Misty seems a better model for the fragrance as she’s truly someone that younger girls can look up to and aspire to be like. She’s an ideal role model and an inspiration to many. She’s also a unique and unconventional model for a fragrance as I don’t think Estee Lauder or any brand has used a ballerina in their ads. A more traditional approach has always been celebrity-based as we all know. Not that Misty isn’t a celebrity in her own right but she isn’t a model or a top paid actress either. I actually feel like I can relate to her much more than the current top model or actresses out there. She was a girl with a dream and achieved that dream through hard work and dedication. How can you not be inspired by that?

I hope Estee Lauder might extend her campaign to color cosmetics. I’d love to see her in cosmetic adverts as well as fragrance ones for the brand. But for now, I have no doubt that Misty will generate plenty of sales of Modern Muse for Estee Lauder.

What do you think of the new face of Modern Muse?

Do sahre!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Like Misty, I was a late starter to Ballet and quickly found I was a natural. Unfortunately, chronic illness didn’t allow me to make it my profession, but I love it all the same. She was and still is a huge inspiration to my life. She deserves everything and more. I’m so proud of her as a fellow woman of color. We need more Misty’s in this world, and I can only hope to one day have as much an impact on someone like she had on me.

I like it, I didn’t think Kendall Jenner was really the right fit for Modern Muse, which I am actually wearing now. It’s one of the few scents that elicit the “what perfume are you wearing”
and the picture and layout is really lovely

    good choice Lauder

Excellent choice, from every p.o.v. Inspiring story, Jen. Misty encourages young girls to find their passion, commit to it, and excel, rise to the top. What does Kendall say?

Oh, this is so exciting! I love love love this, and Misty really is a muse, not just a pretty face. And I love that the ad is also about her, as an inspiration, and not just selling perfume. Kudos to Estee Lauder for this!

Love this! She is an inspiration and I love ballet. And I agree she’s more relatable.

She’s not a Jenner. She’s accomplished in her field. Solid choice.
