Kat Von D Shade + Light Glimmer Eye Contour Palette Available Today

The eagerly anticipated Kat Von D Shade + Light Glimmer Eye Contour Palette ($49) arrived at Sephora today with it’s glorious selection of neutral shades that have a gorgeous gimmer-y finish! The palette was created to contour eyes by building on shadow and capturing the light to create gorgeous, shimmery looks that define eyes.

You’ll get 12 shimmering which have a variety of finishes that range from shimmering satin bases, pearlized metallic contour hues, and reflective glittery tones. The glimmer top coats are probably the most intriguing as they act to bring dimension to your completed look.

Shades include:

  • Base Shades in Porcelain (satin nude), Dusk (satin taupe), Dune (satin peach)
  • Contour Shades in Copper (metallic fawn), Cinder (metallic chestnut), Rust (metallic rust)
  • Define Shades in Bronze (espresso with gold glitter), Onyx (jet black with silver glitter), Jasper (chocolate with gold glitter)
  • Topcoat Shades in Sterling (white gold special effect glimmer), Glacier (platinum special effect glimmer), Quartz (rose gold special effect glimmer)

I’m a freak for glitter and shimmer but lately I’ve been turned on more by mattes. I know right? I promise I’m not sick or delirious. But I do still have a lot of love in my heart for glittery shades. The swatches I’ve seen thus far look very metallic but in a refined way much like the effect and finish of Stila’s gorgeous Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow has. Kat’s formula also appears to have a slurry-like texture that’s creamy and loosely pressed like Too Faced Glitter Bomb Eyeshadow. Needless to say if I’m right about this I’ll be a happy camper.

I can’t wait to try the Shade + Light Gimmer Eye Contour Palette!

Review coming shortly.

Get yours today before it disappears at Sephora.com.

I already placed my order. Yeah, I know, it’s glimmer and I’m a matte person, but I love the KVD all-matter version of this and I think the glimmer version will make a nice companion to it. I love KVD shadows generally, and I can live with metallic.

I already placed my order too. Wonder if the brush actually makes a difference?

The colors look so pretty. I am afraid it may have too much glitter particles and fall out. I will wait for your review and swatches Muse.

Mine should arrive on Friday, I just can’t wait for your review Muse!! I hope the rust shade is everything I think it is, the palette looks unbelievable. I have the matte palette, it really did not show up on my tanned eyes so I am hoping these do the trick

I ordered the new brush as well off the KVD site since it is out of stock on Sephora, should be here Monday or Tuesday and just can’t wait to use it. I just took the plunge, lol.
