Nooni Snowflake Jelly Cleansing Oil Review

Run don’t walk to Ulta’s website and pick up a jar of Memebox Nooni Snowflake Jelly Cleansing Oil ($23) and later, after you’ve used it, you can sing my praises. Nooni Snowflake Jelly Cleansing Oil is a miraculously new cleansing balm slash cleansing oil that launched recently with a slew of other Memebox Skincare offerings at Ulta.com and let me tell you it’s brilliant.

As we all know Memebox is kind of out business but apparently they are still holed up in a factory somewhere creating awesome skincare products.

Ok, so let’s clear some stuff up before I review this little gem. Nooni is one of Memebox’s in house brands that they introduced around 2015 or so. Nooni has their own website but they do have a link leading to Memebox. Basically, it’s the same concept as Kanebo having a slew of house brands such as Allie, KATE, Coffret D’Or, etc….

I was actually a Memebox junkie for a while and purchases one too many boxes and products from their site but I never tried any of the Nooni skincare products and I can’t even remember them being carried on the site all that well. None the less, I was happy to see them pop up at Ulta newly packaged and completely affordable.

Nooni Snowflake Cleansing Oil arrives in a 2.46 oz jar with a spatula and will set you back $23. Not too bad a price and what makes it even greater is the fact it’s so well formulated.

This is a hybrid cleansing balm slash cleansing oil that starts out life as a bouncy jelly-like consistency which resembles a firm gelatin. It feels awesome! It’s not your traditional cleansing balm formula like the ones we’ve seen from Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm, Farmacy Beauty Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm, Pixi Nourishing Cleansing Balm, etc….

The texture is considerably different compared to many cleansing balms on the market. It’s softer, jelly-like, and has a bouncy consistency that reminds me of gelatin. I’ve tried a good deal of cleansing oils that say they transform into an oil but Nooni Snowflake Cleansing Oil of the few that actually does. Once you apply it on your skin it instantly melts and turns oily and feels like a cleansing oil formula. It’s an interesting transformation from jelly to oil and it happens quite quickly. You’ll be using this on dry skin, massaging it on, and adding water to emulsify it just like you would any cleansing balm or cleansing oil formula you’ve used in the past. After it emulsifies, breaks down, and goes milky, you can rinse off the remaining amount. It rinsed clean away for me and left my skin smooth and soft but not tight or dry. There’s no mention on the box about avoiding eyes so I did use it around my eye area but like cleansing oil it did give me cloudy vision but didn’t sting or burn my eyes. It removed makeup beautifully. It broke down left over waterproof mascara that my eye makeup remover didn’t get, it took off my BB Cream and blush easily, and left my skin squeaky clean without leaving behind any film or tackiness. For sensitive users, I did think it smelled very subtly fruity in the jar but when I applied it I did not smell anything at all.

I can’t rave this enough and I will buy another jar when I run out.

It’s fabulous and well worth picking up!

Muse Approved.

To be honest, I’ve never understood these. Would I do another cleanse afterwards, like with my faithful hydrating Cerave cleanser?

you can double cleanse if you want! 🙂 although, you don’t have too!

Sold! Running out of first cleanse soon. I hope U decides to pick up the Nooni reed diffusers, too. They just started Rituals of …, so it seems they are moving into room scent. The Nooni oceanic ones (I got 3) are drying out, and I hate to replace the oil with plain old Yankee Candle. Amazon doesn’t have them. Also want the cottons for point masking. U really is upping the game big time. There are lots of Memebox things that are hard to source, despite the Amazon and Ulta connections. Still not sure I know who Pony is, though.

I didn’t even know they did reed diffusers have to check those out 😀 Pony is one of Korean’s most popular beauty gurus/YouTubers.

Thanks for the review!! I can’t wait to get my hands on this. And extra bonus– no mineral oil!?

I want to buy this after such a compelling review! But I live in Phoenix and worry that it will melt and lose its texture while being mailed. Does it emulsify due to the heat of your face and hands or more due to the pressure of rubbing it around, do you think? Melting is probably not a real issue anywhere but this hellscape, but do you have a sense of whether it might hold up if baked in a 100 degree oven for 12 hours basically? Thanks for any help, it sounds great and I hope I don’t have to wait till January to buy!

Hard to say…! I live in NY and this arrived when it was 90 degrees out and it sat on my porch until I got home. It was “sweating” but it didn’t melt. However, that isn’t any comparison to the intense heat of Arizona! If you’re home when it arrives perhaps it’ll be ok but you might want to wait until it cools down a little 🙂 Sorry! I wish I could be of more help!
