Nordstrom Beauty Exclusives Available Now For Everyone, What I Purchased, and Recs

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Heads up! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is now open to everyone! Last week, as you may know it was open to Nordstrom cardholders only but now anyone can shop the sale.

I’m not terribly excited about this year’s sale as I was about it several years ago. I think the offerings have evolved a lot in recent years and many of the really special limited-edition items just aren’t around anymore. But there’s still a lot of goodness to be had and I did pick up a few of the beauty and makeup bits and bobs they had available.

One of my biggest recommendations for a haul is the Charlotte Tilbury The Gift of Magic Skin Mini Skin Care Set ($75). I think Magic Cream is a little silly but I have none of the same issues with the Magic Eye Rescue. I LOVE it. It’s super emollient and it does wonders for hydrating my eyes. It is by far the best eye cream I have ever come across. I’m also a big lover of the Magic Cream Night Cream Instant Beauty Sleep in a Cream Elixir which has a similiar texture and is very, very hydrating. This set includes a full-size of the eye cream as well as nearly 1 oz sizes of the night cream and regular Magic Cream. If you’re eyes are drier believe me this is a set you don’t want to miss out on. I know $75 seems a lot but your drier eyes and skin will thank you! The Magic Night Cream and Magic Eye Rescue are HG for me (holy grail).

Here’s a few more recommendations!

So, I have a total thing for mini makeup anything. I travel a lot and I always want to pack every single makeup item I own with me. Mini anything makes things a hell of a lot lighter. Not to mention I have a lot of makeup and using up a mini is much easier.

I did buy the MAC Look in a Box Saint No Angel Mini Lip Kit and Look in a Box Baby Be Cool Mini Lip Kit which are $26.50 each. These contain two MAC Mini Lipsticks and two MAC Lipglasses. The MAC Mini Lipsticks are the cutest damn thing I ever did see. I’d recommend grabbing these if you have a hard time using up makeup or you travel a lot!

I don’t really need another NARS Blush in my life but the Angel Pride Cheek Palette ($59) was too good a deal to pass up. I purchased this as well last week as my inner palette hoarder demanded it. This includes Blush in Angel Pride, Angel Pride II, Angel Pride III, Angel Pride IV, and Highlighter in Hot Sand. I haven’t had a chance to crack it open yet but I’m looking forward to trying it out as in person it is stunning!

Here’s one I’ve been waffling on, the NARS Velvet Matte Lipstick Pencil Set ($59). I didn’t get this one but I’m considering it! It available in two shade selections (Tribulation Set which includes shades Maria Carla, Melody N, Soleil de Pluie, and Justine and Mustang Set that includes shades Rouge Palatin, Rouge Immortel, Lesbos, and Bonifacio) each of which includes 4 full-size pencils and a makeup bag. This is quite a value as it’s like you’re buy 2 and get 2 free!

I did buy the Clinique Chubby Sticks Chubette Set but I swear it wasn’t for me! I got this for my friend who will be visiting from Japan soon as she loves the Clinique Chubby Pencils as much as I do. This set is $25 and comes with six mini (0.03 oz each) Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Color Balms housed in a collectible tin!

Hourglass Ambient Diffused Light Palette ($62) is one on everyone’s wish list I’m sure. I didn’t grab this one but I know it’s a popular pick with Hourglass fans. It includes Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light, Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat, and Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Diffused Bronze Light.

I did buy the NARS Fox Dancer Mini Multiples Coffret ($32) when the sale started and I actually questioned the purchase because I don’t really use Multiples as much as I’d like to. This is a great set though and it includes the shades ot Sand (peach champagne), Orgasm (sheer warm pink with golden shimmer), Remember Me (mauve with golden shimmer), and Fox Dancer (shimmering magenta). Are you getting why I liked it so much? SHIMMER! These are such great luminous shades for the warm weather. I’m wearing Remember Me today on bare skin no foundation no concealer and just curled eyelashes and I look all kinds of happy and healthy. It’s a great little set that won’t break your wallet.

My first Sigma purchase! I got this Brilliant & Spellbinding Eyeshadow Palette because the shades look lovely in the promo image! I haven’t dug in yet but for $25 I popped it in my cart on a whim! It includes 12 warm, toasty shades as if I don’t already have enough warm shades right?

Big recommendation for the Lipstick Queen Frog Prince Color Changing Duo ($25) as it includes a Frog Prince Lipstick and a Frog Prince Cream Blush both great for flushed lips and cheeks!

And finally I did haul the Simplehuman Round Sensor Mirror Pro which was a very silly purchase on my part since I already own one but I really wanted to Rose Gold version. I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE my Simplehuman mirror. I know they are expensive but they are so worth the investment. You can just see every little hair, imperfection, and pore up close and personal in this mirror. It’s literally use it at least two or three times a day. For my skincare application, makeup application, for plucking stray hairs (seriously this thing shows you hair you didn’t even realize you had on your face), for checking out my makeup, etc….) It magnifies everything 100 times! The Rose Gold version is extra special as it is Wi-Fi enabled and allows you to recreate the lighting around you my using your phone. It’s a pretty darn techy mirror it even connects to your Nest Cam if you have one and gives you an idea of what the lighting is like outside so you can adjust your makeup accordingly. And of course, it automatically detects your face and lights up when you are near it! Now the best part, it’s regularly $250 but marked down to $167. Even around the Holidays when Simplehuman had some good sales it wasn’t this low a price. Yes, that’s costly! But believe me it’s one of the best beauty investments you’ll make in your life. I don’t regret purchasing a second one!

That’s what caught my eye and some of the items I purchased.

I had that Sigma palette, although it looks like they put a new cover on it. I wasn’t crazy about the colors on me (they all kind of looked the same) so I got rid of it.

    • Isabella Muse

AWW don’t say that! I haven’t tried it yet and was hopeful it would be nice 😀

  • Christina D.

Oh no the shadows are nice; it’s not a matter of quality. It was just a color/complexion issue, and my so-so blending skills. I have other Sigma palettes that I like better for the shade selection. But I hope it works for you!

    • Isabella Muse

haha I love you sis! “so-so blending skills” that’s me ;-D We shall see! I’m curious if I’ll like! Girl, we still need to do our dinner date :-/ We’ve been putting it off too long!

Prob Nars Mustang. Never met a Nars red I didn’t like, hell, love. Maybe the multiples, but kwym about not using the ones I have. Second 2 appeal, others not so much. Course, I need none of this at all. But next to the thinking/planning aspect of m/u, love the bargains best.

  • Amy Baldwin

    Thanks for the recommendations
I’ll try the Tilbury Magic eye rescue.

    • Isabella Muse

great deal! I got it too. I have the silver one, LOVE it with my life. It is an amazing mirror. I got the rose gold one because it’s a little more techy! It’s a really good deal. Enjoy it. Let me know what you think when it arrives?

      • Susan

I’m so glad to hear you love the one you already have! I can’t wait to try it out, but I’ll be waiting a bit. It was on backorder and will arrive in August. For the price, I don’t mind!

        • Isabella Muse

omg maybe that’s why mine hasn’t shipped yet! Darn! Oh well August is coming soon 😀

  • Christina D.

Yeah it really is silly how long it’s taken us to coordinate schedules. Maybe a Sunday afternoon one of these upcoming weekends when it’s not so bloody hot?

    • Isabella Muse

I wanted the Dior lip set but they didn’t have it at my Nordstrom’s and when I got home to buy it online, it was already sold out. But I did get a bottle of Tom Ford’s Mandarino Di Amalfi Acqua (not on sale though sadly)!
