30 Days of New E.L.F. Cosmetics Starts in 2 Days and Makes Me Cringe!

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

E.L.F. Cosmetics jumps on the Too Faced Peaches & Cream marketing scheme with a new release daily for the next 30 days. In two days, the brand will launch a brand new product daily on their website at www.elfcosmetics.com.

I imagine this is their Fall 2017 Collection or perhaps just additions to their permanent collection. It sounds exciting but one major launch would work out better for me as shipping on their website isn’t exactly cheap. Some might argue to just wait for 30 days and do one big haul at the end but E.L.F. tends to sell out of newly launched products quickly lately and the restock is slow.

So, yet again, I find myself like a hamster in a wheel jumping through hoops to purchase makeup.

On the upside, starting tomorrow there’s 50% off site wide using promo code CELEBRATE (ends August 31st)! That might make you feel a little less irritated about the “launch a day” marketing technique!

Set your reminders and hope for something so good we’ll forget about the fact we can only get our hands on a single new release a day.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I’ve been waiting now on new releases from every drugstore brand. You can never find them in the stores anymore or they are sold out. It’s really annoying that brands like wet n wild and elf are becoming more exclusive than high end brands! I’m over it.

It’s true there newer releases are hard to find in stores. Their free standing stores do get new releases but if you don’t have one around you’re kind of forced to buy in stores :-/

I hate that kind of promotion. E.L.F. has been announcing left and right this or that new, too. Those metallic shadow transformers, that shimmer lipstick top coat, the skin care, etc. It’s overwhelming. And you never find the new stuff in stores until it’s been out a few months. I’m mainly into picking up the odd brush from them now and then and am tired of the rest. (Plus their online swatches are horribly off.)
Drugstores seem so random lately, too. I found the Wet n Wild mermaid collection, but it was mostly picked clean. The main new thing I find lately is the L’Oréal matte lipsticks, and I’m not paying $10 for those at Walgreens!

Yet another wtf trend. One release a day. Everyone works so hard to annoy me. Think I’ll lie here with the dogs on my new sunbrella couch…or maybe the loveseat, and contemplate totally ignoring them. Not what elf or tf had in mind. Their strats are backfiring on me.

Another gimmick like Too Faced and sephora. I only have so much space in my apartment. Everything adds up when you get your cc bill in the mail. I love makeup but I have enough until I am 150 years old. Plus Elf stuff is a hit or miss.

I tried the 50% off code, but it only took $8 off of my $71 order. Bummer! Not sure what the exclusions are with the code- I did have a little of everything in my cart.

It actually starts tomorrow as I stated in the post that might be why it didn’t work.

Alright. This is it! Let’s all band together and say to hell with this nonsense! Who’s with me!!??!!??

Dear Elf: I will not buy ANY of your new products. Why? I don’t like someone dangling a carrot in my face. It’s a terrible marketing plan and if you’re trying to create churn, you’ve failed. Miserably.

I’ve been over the strategies for awhile! The ultra-limited edition, have to get up early to sit there and battle other makeup fiends while we frantically refresh our pages….hell nah. I love makeup & shopping but my budget is super limited and there are enough things I want badly that are sitting on local store shelves right now that I don’t need to jump through extra hoops just to spend money. Plus I don’t like the feeling of being treated like I’m dumb and a lot of these brands are just making super obvious ploys like this one seems like a way for ELF to get more shipping and that makes me go the opposite way and ignore it.
