About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

the good news is sephora’s return policy is awesome if you hate it, you can return it 😀

Oh! Oh! Oh! I want this but I don’t want to buy unless it’s “Muse Approved”!

I did not get mine yet. Still in transit 3 days from Wood bridge NJ and I am in NYC. I ordered on launch date I read many bad reviews from Sephora site.

I purchased mine from ABH last week and will hopefully have it today. I’ve read glowing reviews, not that any negative reviews would have made a difference to me when hauling. So excited to see some different colors!

I’m so sad, I want this palette so much, but the reviews are just horrible. I spent a few hours last night just looking up everything I could because so many people complained. Apparently they changed the formula for this, and a lot of people have noticed the difference. I know I could return, but maybe I’ll wait for them to fix it first. I’m tempted to get it now and exchange/return it if they fix it/it sucks, but my closest Ulta doesn’t know how to do returns when purchased with Ulta points.

I wonder if ABH is going to respond to all the complaints and to the formula change concerns. If they’re going to re-do the palette (unlikely, expensive, and time-consuming) I’d wait to get it but I just don’t know. Bet a lot of companies are rushing their own dupe palettes as we speak. I’d try to make my own dupe from Coastal Scents Hot Pots but I know they don’t have a comparable teal or dark green or dark plum. Sadness.

FYI Sista Muse I used this today and I like it. The colors are very pigmented and a little goes a long way. I used a light touch so fall out was manageable and I left no divots in the shadow pans. However, I found them to be difficult to blend once applied. I approached it like a paint-by-numbers and it worked out OK, deliberately going from lightest to darkest for placement.

I read on Sephora website reviews for Subculture that the palettes with batch number P7F21 are fine.
