I’m Sorry For Not Liking Murumuru Butter Blush

I keep hearing raves about Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Blush and I find myself wanting to try the newest shades. You see, I originally reviewed these back in December when they launched at drugstores and the shade selection was a little smaller. I was disappointed with the colors that barely showed up on my face and applied so sheer. I was also disappointed with the way they clung to drier areas.

But I keep hearing “buttery soft” “so smooth” “velvety” thrown around and I suddenly, want to re-try these. Not to mention the shade selection has been extended by two shades which are much brighter than the shades I originally tried.

I’m sorry for not liking Murumuru Butter Blush but I’m willing to retry it.

What about you?

Is it a hit or a miss formula for you?

I actually disliked it big time when I tried it and I’m not sure I’ll be too impressed the second go around but we shall see.

Are you willing to give it a second chance if you hated it?

I passed the first time around since the colors would definitely show up on my medium skin tone. I have the bronzer and if the texture of the blushes are anything like the bronzer, I’ll pass again this time. It’s stiff which is good for me since I have a heavier hand. But I like my blush to pop a bit more and these would take forever to build with my current brushes. I would love to hear your thoughts if you do try them again 🙂

I think I’m going to give them another whirl. I never tried the new coral shade so I might indulge. I’ll def let you know what I think Cindy 😀

I like them! My skin is pretty fair, so they show up on me just fine. I like that they’re sheer too because I’m pretty heavy handed with blush. I definitely wish Physicians Formula would make shades that would actually show up on women with deeper skin tones, though. They’ve been around 80 years and haven’t figured that out yet?

The whole butter line is the living and dying worst to me. I’m not particularly sensitive to smells, but the second I opened the compacts I thought I died. All I get is super synthetic popcorn lollipops–and really, really strong. Even if the colors were good, I couldn’t do it. HARD PASS for me!

    😀

I don’t mind the smell but the dryness and the clinging is the worst for me :-/

I have one of the first orginal colors Plum Rose and while I love the formula it is quite neutral and nude. I only wear it when I am wearing a more intense smoky eye. I really want to find the more warm toned of the two newer shades. I know everyone has different experiences with makeup, but I really like it. It is really soft and creamy to me, so I think if you got the brighter shades they would show up a lot more.

I wish I had as great an experience as you! It just clung terribly to my skin and looked aged and old. The color barely showed up boo 🙁 I’m glad it worked out for you though!

Ugh. I’m with you. This is one of things I bought because everyone on YouTube was raving about it but when I wear it it’s like someone has a magnifying glass on my pores – they look gigantic. Not a good look.

    • Isabella Muse

My pores aren’t even visible and this made them LOOK visible lol!

Can you describe what you didn’t like about it? I don’t really buy anything from this brand, but the packaging for this looks so cute! I don’t want to get it if the product sucks though.

I have the first two and plan on buying the new ones! I’m very very pale’ vampires have more color than me, I have normal to oily skin. These blushes are very light even on my skintone, but they look soft and natural on me. There’s no way to overdo the blush wihic is a nice change for me. Other blushes I have to be so careful to use a light hand or I look like a clown.

I will say this is the only products From this brand that I’ve enjoyed in a long time.

I’m one of those who had good luck with these and plan on purchasing the new colors. The bronzer is pretty much my favorite because it’s so easy for me to use without looking ridiculous. (Heavy handed here! 😀 ) The blushes didn’t cling to my dry patches for some reason. Sounds like you and others have had issues with that. Also, I love that I can build up the blushes if I want, but love that it looks so natural on me without looking like I have blush on. Hmmm….not sure that made sense. lol “No makeup” makeup. I’m 46 and although I have good skin still, if it looks like I tried to hard it just makes me look older. 😀 And I’m one of those that LOVES the scent! 🙂

I LOVE the scent too just wish I liked the formula half as much 🙁

ever since you reviewed and didn’t like it, I’ve been stopping myself from trying the shade that you’ve already tried. However I haven’t seen the new shades anywhere

    • Isabella Muse

I haven’t either! I’m curious if I’ll feel differently once I try though!

I skipped these because even being practically transparent, I find PF blush shades to be just too brown toned for me. That’s one of my biggest pet peeves in makeup, Colors that are too brown or yellow toned, they just look muddy on me. I love PF but the color range in their products have never really liked me. the translucent powders are about the only product I can use. I was so thrilled when I discovered Korean cosmetics because they tend to favor the bright rich shades that just look better on my skin tone.
