It seemed like a good time to review and share my love for Pacifica Banana Love Deep Intensive Moisture Mask considering I was just talking about bananas and hair masks in my Body Shop post a little bit ago.

I know some people who simply hate bananas and how they smell. I personally love them and I adore how they smell. So, sure, why not, I don’t mind my hair smelling like bananas.

I recently re-purchased Pacifica Banana Love Deep Intensive Moisture Mask because Pacifica is on sale at Ulta.com for Buy 1, Get 1 50% Off. Seemed like a good time to take advantage as the sale is quite nice. The regular price is $16 for a 6 oz tube but paying $8 bucks is even better.

This is a hydrating mask for majorly damaged hair that’s doesn’t contain sulfates or parabens. I don’t know if I qualify for damaged hair but the bottles does recommend that drier hair types can use it and that fits the bill for me perfectly. I’ve been doing a lot of swimming this Summer and the chlorine is killing my hair so I typically use some sort of hair mask once a week to sort that mess out.

I think I like Pacifica’s formula so much because it doesn’t weight my hair down. It not loaded up with a bunch of silicones which sure, they’ll add moisture but they’ll also add a bunch of build up as well. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some silicones in my hair care. When you have hair as long and as wavy as I do a little silicone can do wonders at keeping it looking smooth. But possibly the best hair I ever had was when I went completely silicone-free and started using Lush hair care exclusively. I never had a bad hair day back than! Anyway, this mask doesn’t weight my hair down nor does it create a ton of build up.

This is a thicker, creamier mask which I apply to damp hair and wait several minutes before rinsing out. Sometimes I’ll rinse my hair with cold water after being in the pool, towel dry it, apply the mask, re-wrap my hair in a towel and sitting around several minutes before showering. You can always apply it in the shower as well and leave it on for 3 minutes while you shave your legs. I just like to let it sit for 10 to 20 minutes. It rinses out very easily and quickly.

I wouldn’t say it delivered intense moisture but it does smooth and soften my hair quite nicely sans build up. It has a great scent! It’s a bit synthetic but still a nice sweet banana taffy-like fragrance that isn’t too overpowering.

If you want a no-nonsense mask that rinses out easily and doesn’t leave behind crazy build up I think you’ll like the Pacifica Banana Love Deep Intensive Moisture Mask. It smooths and softens without leaving behind a ton of gross residue.

This totally made me want to try the mask! Pacifica products always seem to impress me but I haven’t tried their hair stuff. I know what you mean about silcone making hair feel awesome- the only problem is it coats your hair and doesn’t let any of the good moisture from argan oils, etc. get in.
