Pacifica Cherry Lava Purify Mask Creating Lather To Cleanse The World’s Face

Pacifica Cherry Lava Purify Mask ($14) is a newish charcoal mask that acts to pull junk out of your pores while tightening skin. The mad mask frenzy that social media stirred up has bitten me so, I’m over here multi-masking a few times a week. I’m positive I’m on the verge of my skin peeling off because I’ve been masking so much. Some have been good experiences, some pointless, and the Pacifica Cherry Lava Purify Mask has been pretty great.

Here’s my thoughts and review.

So, the Pacifica Cherry Lava Purify Mask is pretty different compared to a lot of masks I’ve tried. This contains volcanic that acts to remove dead skin, caffeine, as well as green tea. It has a light cherry fragrance which is identical to the Pacifica Berry Matcha Recharge Face Lotion which reminds me of a plastic doll smell.

Pacifica recommends applying a thick layer on your face and sitting around for 10 to 20 minutes before working into a lather and rinsing off. I highly recommend going with less versus more! I’ll tell you why in a second.

The mask is very thick and creamy but it does have a looser texture which gives it a slightly runny consistency. It applies easily enough and starts off as a dark gray but turns into a lighter gray as you massage it on. I left it on for 20 minutes as I watched Game of Thrones and it didn’t tighten up nor did it completely set or dry down. After the 20 minutes was up and headed to the sink, added water, and started to gently massage it in. HOLY COW! It creates tons and tons and tons of lather. I applied a medium amount on my face. I wouldn’t say it was a thick layer but I did use about two quarter size amounts on my face and man it created some intense layer. At first, it was a little difficult to remove. I kept adding water but it wasn’t breaking down but with a little pressure I started working it up in a good lather and after that it rinsed off easily.

I was concerned this would strip my skin and make me tight. It does contain kaolin which isn’t too kind to drier skin as well as other drying ingredients like volcanic ash and charcoal powder. But I was surprised and relieved I came out of it not dry nor tight. My skin felt quite smooth and soft. Not hydrated mind you but definitely not dry either. Not to mention it was also squeaky clean.

I liked this a lot and I’m going to add it to my weekly routine. It’s a really great way to get a good deep clean! I’m not sure how my skin will react to this in the Winter but right now my skin loves it.

I don’t really have gunk in my pores, I don’t really have pores for that matter lol! But I’m a chronic sheet mask user but lately I use a cream mask first and follow with a sheet mask. It actually makes my skin look amazing in the AM 😀

This sounds far gel-ier than the Innisfree, but I’m oilier. Kind of like a cross between that and the Freeman sea/probiotic that got d/c’d at Ulta. S.t. Multimasking makes more sense. The longer I go on differin, the less heavy Jeju pulling mask I need. Have used the Nooni toner ‘sheets’ that stay on better, if you are trying to do things, primarily with the Cosrx galactomyces toner. Omg, you can literally see the plumping (and the lack of it, beyond the line of demarcation. Those sheets are clearly a better way to play than just spraying the stuff on. The Pacifica sounds good. Will intragoogle. Thanks.
