Too Faced Unicorn Survival Kit Brings Unicorn Makeup Back for the Holidays

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Ugh! I wish everyone would stop trying to make unicorn makeup a thing! The Too Faced Unicorn Survival Kit ($26) might be your thing if you’re still embracing the love of unicorns. This set includes a deluxe size of Unicorn Tears La Creme Lipstick as well as Unicorn Tears Melted Latex Lipstick plus a blue-to-pink shifting highlighter that’s imprinted with an adorable unicorn. And of course, don’t forget the unicorn makeup bag to store it all in.

I have to admit, as silly as I find the unicorn makeup trend I do realize there’s a market for everything so, no offense to anyone who loves unicorns. And psstt I kinda dig the cute highlighter. I’m reliving the good old Rainbrite and Starlite days here!

Get your Too Faced Unicorn Survival Kit now at toofaced.com and at ulta.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. The imprint on the powder is cute, but isn’t everyone pretty unicorned out by now? How often can most people possibly fit blue iridescent shimmer into their makeup routine? Is this seriously something that people wear to the office, school, etc. often enough to justify the number of sparkly opalescent rainbow products currently on the market? I fee like these items must frequently lie unused (or used just once or twice) after purchase.

(Although if you DO wear a lot of blue iridescent shimmer to work, definitely rock it! I’m sure it looks great, even if it’s not business casual. I just can’t think of many people for whom this would be practical.)

can’t really knock anyone for loving blue iridescent shimmer but I know I can’t. I’m just not really into the unicorn/mermaid thing at all! I’m obviously getting old ;-D A few years ago I would have probably loved this but now I just mentally roll my eyes hehe!

Hey, whatever. I’ve got 15-20 on you, and most used highlighter palette is Aurora. Course, don’t do gold very often! And eschew coral, warm pink lips like the plague. I’d wear squid ink or kale…they are dark, which says menswear/conservative to me. most midrange anything does not look like me at all. Nudes or darks. Funny what you get less comfortable with as you age. For me, it’s fuschia/hot pink lips. They have the ‘coolth,’ but look too bright. Bright oranges are getting deselected, too. Anything that gets me ‘looks’ from the public becomes kind of a no no. Funny, nobody ‘looks’ at dark red or greige shades. Maybe bec they are used to them on me. (I work retail, mostly w/e nights.)

I’m 55 and love unicorn and mermaid makeup, as well as metallic and bright…pretty much anything that isn’t neutral! Unfortunately this kit is sold out. I wish Sephora carried it!

I love it too! It is supposed to be restocked on the Too Faced website before the holidays & I’ve heard it actually has been restocked since its original release, but it sells out within minutes & without
warning It is also set to be released only at ULTA stores sometime soon (unfortunately Sephora won’t be carrying it since they got dibs on the Boss Lady Planner lol) but nobody at Ulta seems to know exactly when. According to Too Faced’s IG it’s already there, but its def not at Ulta.com & I’ve been checking in at a couple Ulta stores near me every week & every week the girls say “no, sorry, hopefully it will be in next week’s shipment…?” I’ll keep checking but in the meantime we unicorn lovers are all waiting very impatiently!⏳

Haha, I do work in a business casual office environment and I always manage to sneak a little outrageous makeup into my look! I use the unicorn tears lipstick over a neutral mauve color and it looks beautiful. Today I am rocking silver eyeshadow that looks like liquid chrome but with otherwise neutral makeup. The key to pulling it off is only wearing one unusual item at a time and keep the rest of the makeup traditional. I’ve never been called out on it and if anything, I get a lot of compliments (and a few odd looks, I do admit)

You know I LOVE unicorns and mermaids. I was all about the movies Splash and Legend growing up but I have had ZERO desire to buy anything unicorn or mermaidish with regards to make up. Well I guess the only exception would be the Sonia Kashuk brush set that just came out that looks like unicorn horns but I bought those more because they’re so soft I wanted the tiny crease brush and in my defense they weren’t marketed as unicorn anything. To me they just looked like unicorn horns.

I have never purchased anything unicorn (OK except a rainbow highlight by Bitter Lace Beauty that people were raving about and which I rarely use, but try). That said, I didn’t realize at the time that it was hot due to a “unicorn” love, I just thought, “Hey, a rainbow! That’s cute, let’s see what it does.”. I did however “try” to find the unicorn lipstick because I figured that even over 50 I’d rock it over some color or when I want to go light and bare, but it was always out of stock, so it’s a sign. I even thought, “Oh, I’ll get the bag, and give it to my 11 year-old.” Again, out of stock, so there. Guess TF’s unicorn makeup just isn’t in my destiny.

I saw an empty display at my local Ulta, so I think it’s going to be releasing soon there.

Although oftentimes cute, I’m a little over unicorn this, mermaid that make-up…”Be a mermaid!”… :::rolling eyes, LOL:::
