Violet Voss Launches Their Highly Pigmented Palettes at Sephora

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Violet Voss is now available and sold at Sephora.com! This indie brand has been perfecting their eyeshadow formula for the last two years and has a strong cult following in the makeup community and now it’ll get even more of following now that it is available at Sephora!

Their eyeshadow palettes run in price from $45 to $75 and include 20 to 42 highly pigmented eyeshadows.

I haven’t personally tried Violet Voss myself but I’ve come across plenty of swatches and ravings across social media and in particular Instagram. Maybe it’s about time I check them out.

Anyone ever try their formula?

Looking forward to doing so?

With Sephora’s 20% Rouge/VIB Event upcoming it might be a good time to check them out!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Morning Muse. I am overflowing in eyeshadow pallets. Between this palette and the UD Heat, which should I buy? Yeah, I know I’m late on the Heat palette, but I have been breaking our rule on the Shower Gel and Perfum purchases in the last 6 months. I felt guilty. 🙁
Oh, the horrors of first world problems. And as I’m sure you know, Lush has our fav scent this time of year. So……I went bat shit crazy in Lush on Friday. Ha.

    • Isabella Muse

Morning Jennifer! between which and the UD heat? Violet Voss has several palettes which were you referencing? 😀 I’m not really sure I could tell you anyway having never tried these before so can’t really compare between them and UD Heat. LOL don’t worry, I have too! I’ve been good for the most part but I might have broken the ban once or twice 😀 ha! Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their Christmas stuff is my downfall!

      • Jennifer

Sorry for not being more clear. It’s still early. It’s the one pictured. Yes, the VV palette, however the colors looks so much like Heat. Maybe, I will get both and choose from there. :-/. I’m off the rest of the week, but I have Doctors appointments lined up back to back (I will sneak in a mani/pedi, though). I’ve got a baby in the oven, and I’m 40. As you can imagine, lots of tests. Yay for late motherhood. Have a great day.

        • Isabella Muse

Oh no worries lol! I’m not really sure how the two compare but Christina answered a little for you above ;D I haven’t tried VV yet so not sure! Oh my gosh congrats! You’ll be fine, don’t worry! Lots of late motherhood moms 😀 Best time to have a baby as far as I’m concerned as you’ve truly lived and enjoyed and now you can settle down and probably have a lot more patience than you did when you were in your twenties 😀

          • Jennifer

I saw her review. I went ahead and ordered the UD Heat palette.mits great for fall. And thanks so much for sweet words regarding baby boy. Yes, I have more patience and money, and I found the man of my dreams. I won’t even get started on my boyfriends of years past. But, being an older mom will come a few downfalls. I get tired so much faster than my youth. And people are judgmental. They always say things like ” Omg, you’ll be 68 when he graduates”. gee, I didn’t think about that. -sarcasm-. 🙂

          • Isabella Muse

Yay! Great Jennifer! When are you due!?! Awww that is so sweet. Girl, you’re 40 not 80 haha! Believe me, once he arrives you’ll likely have the stamina of ten girls in their teens because you’ll be a mom and find the strength 🙂 People need mind their business! I don’t see anything wrong with being an older mom. If anything at all I’m one of those people that judge people who are in their twenties and already have two kids. It feels like they haven’t had a chance to live and enjoy life yet. There’s nothing wrong with being 68 when he graduates, that’s not old! Don’t worry about it…! meh! Besides he’ll likely make you feel younger anyway! Don’t let anyone ruin it for you, it’s a special time, enjoy it.

        • Lisa

Their comment about you being 68… not even correct. When kiddo is graduating you’ll be 58. Yay math!

          • Susan

Well, I had my two kids when I was in my twenties, and believe me, I had and still have a chance to live and enjoy life. But my parents were in their 40s when they had my sibling and me, and it all worked out great. Different strokes!

I’m sure you already know the answer: of course I have tried VV eyeshadows! I have several of VV’s palettes and they are for the most part good. But I have gotten rid of a few that I just did not like (coincidentally, those were ones that were collaborations) but I kept the ones I really like. I also ordered the newest one, Taupe Notch, today.

All I know is massive following and virtually instant sold out. This is going to make a huge increase in production…and there are many implications there. Admit to curiosity, but not to Yay status. Since I tend to go hog wild, if I love a new (to me) brand, it’d be smarter not to go there. Never saw any small offerings, like the ND 5s. Lots of glitter and lashes. Prob, like CP S’s main offerings will be palettes…only makes sense.

    • Isabella Muse

and this is new!? I thought it was already available!? see, that’s how much I know about VV 😀

  • Kish

I had never heard of this brand before, but wow is that one sexy palette. Looks like sephora is working hard now that Ulta has basically turned it up 10 notches lol. Yay for us. Guess I better go make room in my palette drawer…

  • Christina D.

I’m not a beauty blogger and certainly not an authority but in the humble opinion of an eyeshadow palette junkie who has both UD Heat and several of the VV palettes — UD Heat over VV. But I may be in the minority because I really like the UD Heat palette!

    • Isabella Muse

girl, you’re an expert and authority on makeup as far as I’m concerned!

  • Christina D.

The Violet Voss website has a clock counting down the release of Taupe Notch today (3 more hours!). I didn’t think Sephora would have it up first so that’s where I ordered it from this morning.

I have Holy Grail (HG), Matte for You, and Ride or Die and none of them resemble UD Heat. As I mentioned, I just ordered Taupe Notch today and it would appear to be nothing like Heat either. UD’s quality is hands down better than VV in my experience.

    • Isabella Muse

I didn’t realize it was new duh! I had heard, rumor or not? that VV and MAC have the same manufacturer!

  • Caroline

I have three VV palettes (Holy Grail, Ride or Die and Matte About You), and all three are good. HG is my favorite, mostly because the color selection really appeals to me. I need to use the other two a bit more, but their shadows are quite nice. Not the best I’ve ever tried, but blendable and pigmented! I will probably pick up the Nicol Concilio collab palette during the VIB Rouge sale next month.

  • Christina D.

Jennifer — I really hope you like UD Heat. I feel so responsible now!

Also, congratulations and I wish you all the best . Don’t you love how people feel free to give you their unsolicited opinion/advice? It says more about them then it does about you so tune ’em out!

    • Isabella Muse

amen preach. Everyone wants to give an unasked for opinion/advice on every detail of life! It boggles the mind. Please, go away ;-D haha!

      • Kish

Oh, they definitely do. I have complications from lyme disease, I was originally sick for over three years. I had about 5 good months, but it seems I am relapsing right now. I have seen every doctor imaginable, my immune system basically doesn’t work properly and then begins to attack different part of my body, mainly joints and the cartilage between my ribs. But people still feel the need to tell me if I would eat clean or try this essential oil or do this or that I would be cured. Yeah, great, thanks so much, if only I had known that one smoothie a day could have prevented the last three years of misery… eye roll.

        • Isabella Muse

that’s crazy! You hear things about Lyme disease but I don’t anyone realizes how bad it can get! 🙁 Yeah, everyone is the authority on everything SIGH RANT!

    • Dana

I saw the UD Heat palette at Nordstrom Rack for what I think was about $24 about 2 weeks ago…

  • Jodi

It suddenly occurred to me that I never give a second glance to brands / products unless they’re published by The Muse! This would likely affect other consumers too, (I think). Brands would be totally dismissed because I’m only familiar with those reviewed regularly here. Likewise, those I hadn’t considered previously, would be purchased following Muse Approval. I hope Violet Voss sends PR samples!

    • Isabella Muse

omg that’s pretty flattering to hear lol ;-D You put a lot of faith into me Jodi <3!
