Stila Wanderlust Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow ($24) is a new exclusive glitter cream eyeshadow shade that’s currently available on the brand’s website only. As you know from my many ravings I’m quite the fan of the Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow formula so, of course, I have to catch them all. Wanderlust launched a few short weeks ago but I held off and ended up hauling it during Black Friday at a steal.

This shade was very, very appealing as it contained both gold and pink shifting glitter. There’s something terribly magically when gold and pink get together in blushes or eyeshadows. Add to the fact that Stila has a gorgeous promo image with it on a model’s eye and I was sold.

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow arrives in a square barrel with an attached sponge applicator for application. The formula is a cocktail of pearl and glitter particles that are suspended in a lightweight gel which apply and blend very easily. I have no fall out during application and the glitter adheres easily to my drier skin nor is there any fall out once the shadow sets plus they remove easily as well. I have no issues with migration or creasing and they stay on all day without issue. You can apply the formula on bare lids or over powder eyeshadow for more depth. If you hate glitter, this formula isn’t one I’d recommend as it has a ton of it! But if you do like it, you’ll be in heaven. This eyeshadow is ideal for Holiday party of evening out looks as the shimmer is gorgeous and really lights up eyes.

I don’t typically like duochrome or shifting eyeshadow shades. Dunno why, I just don’t like them. However, the combination of gold and pink was too beautiful not to indulge in. Sadly, it didn’t quite work out for me. It looks considerably nicer online than in reality. There is gold and pink glitter here but when I swatched it and when I applied it the color was more gold than pink. On my arm it swatches almost a sandy gold and on my eyes it looks silver. I’m so sad. I wish it was that gorgeous shifting golden pink!

Darn!

Oh well! None the less, the formula still rocks my word and I will continue to by any new shades that Stila decides to throw our way.

Stila Wanderlust Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow is available now at stilacosmetics.com.

Sorry you had a letdown, but it’s just one shade. The verbal description sounds a bit like the BL glazed gloss product. Being in a pot, those are much harder to apply. Mermaid is a glitter fest, but most consumers review that the general formula isn’t glittery enough. I rather like those less glittery ones, but the app is rather tedious, not to mention messy, to get on evenly, unless it’s a one and done. Going to see if you reviewed them as well.

Agreed! All the shades I’ve tried thus far has been good so I’m not complaining too hard ;-D I never had a problem with application! Quite smooth going 😀

Try it over a matte black powder eye shadow. That is my answer to everything that is sheer, glittery, and shifty. It will usually show up. Otherwise, it is still very pretty on you!

I had this in my cart on Black Friday and almost bought it because of how beautiful and duochrome the swatches for it looked, but something made me hold off and now I’m so glad I didn’t get it! This doesn’t look the least bit duochrome, and while the pale gold is pretty, I would have been so disappointed! I’m still planning on buying one or two of those mermaid-looking duochromes they came out with, so they should satisfy my duochrome, glittery needs. 🙂

I’m glad you didn’t because like you, I was disappointed. I’m not big on duochromes to be honest but this looked so pretty! I think their promo image is doctored or they used another shade to create that shift. Or I got a fluke of a product! It didn’t look like that at all on me!

i put it in my cart too and then changed my mind! i am a gold person, not silver, but i also just thought this might be too light. i still need to replace 2 other shades as they are completely depleted. doh!

  • Christina

Sadness, this isn’t anything like I imagined it to look. It isn’t duochrome at all and pretty much looks like glitter on you without a base colour.

I love the concept of this liquid eyeshadow, especially if it doesn’t budge from the eyelids, but man-oh-man is it disco-ball glittery which at my ripe age of 50 is a big no-no, even though I’m fortunate enough not to have eye wrinkles yet. I wonder if Stila makes this product in a sheer shimmer finish? I used to love Josie Maran’s Coconut Watercolor eyeshadow, but I think they stopped making it.

    • Isabella Muse

maybe try their new glow liquid eyeshadows instead, those are shimmery but not crazy!

Hey Muse! Have been stalking this site since forever and I just adore it 🙂

In regards to the product, did you swipe or pat the product on? Perhaps its just the process of application. I’ve seen loads of tutorials on these babies and I noticed that when the color is swiped on the lid is not as effective as when you pat it in. Perhaps if you haven’t tried that maybe the pat method will work 🙂

Hi! Thanks for being such a long time follower <3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xoxo! I typically apply it on pointer finger from the applicator and I gently pat it on my lid. I find that technique gets the best shimmery effect versus swiping it on as that sheers it out considerably!

Aww well dang that is a bummer! Such a beautiful color too. Well from a previous passage I read, I see you purchased the vault of these so hopefully those will be a lot better 🙂 cant wait for you to review them for us woot!

        • Isabella Muse

I love the vault! LOVE IT! Some shades I already owned but many of them I didn’t! Was so happy I grabbed it 😀 Will feature soon!

So lets just say this particular shade is daytime appropriate sparkle. Even though I love sparkle and would wear it everyday lol

  • Sara

I was in Sephora today and swatched some of the individual colors. They’re fantastic! Now I want the holiday set of 6. And the mermaid ones. Because mermaids… Good thing I have my $25 off $50 Rouge coupon!
