Do you have a skincare resolution in place for Spring 2018 or am I the only beauty addict that’s all, “OMG we’re headed into a new year I need NEW SKINCARE!” I always feel like as I head into a new year that it feels like a good idea to revamp my skincare routine. I’m a year older after all and maybe my skin needs something better to keep it looking young not to mention the long, hard days of Winter almost immediately follow January 1st. I know, I know I’m totally making excuses to add to my stash of skincare but there good excuses wouldn’t you agree?

If you’re a bit frugal and you aren’t interested in taking on the high-end skincare world don’t worry because this post is all about new drugstore skincare picks for Spring 2018.

Here’s a few that might be worthy of further exploration.

As always Garnier always releases a slew of new skincare seasonally especially around this time of the year! Garnier SkinActive Soothing 3-in-1 Face Moisturizer with Rose Water ($12) is one of three new moisturizer launching at drugstores that contain 96% naturally derived ingredients. They created to work as a daily or nightly moisturizer as well as a facial mask or even to remove makeup.

Garnier Skin Skinactive Soothing 3-in-1 Face Moisturizer

L’Oreal introduced their Rosy Tone Moisturizer last year and they follow up on the success with a new Age Perfect Cell Renewal Rosy Tone Mask ($24.99) that promises to restore a rosy, radiant, healthy glow to your skin in five minutes. The fruit acid infused formula acts to gently exfoliate dead skin cells while hydrating skin and creating a smoother, softer complexion.

I can count at least five new micellar waters launching at drugstores this season! Burt’s Bees Micellar Water ($11.99) is one! Created with 99.5% natural ingredients this formula contains Australian White Cypress oil and honey extract to smooth and soften skin as it removes makeup without the need to rinse.

Neutrogena adds to their Hydro Boost Skincare Collection with this Multivitamin Booster ($19.99) that contains Hyaluronic Acid and a Multi-Vitamin Boosting Capsule complex that delivers intense hydration to tired, duller skin.

Winter is hear! So, of course, we need more moisture and that might just come in the form of this Boots No7 Instant Results Nourishing Hydration Mask ($14.99). This water-based gel acts to hydrate skin and promote a smoother, softer complexion by utilizing lipids that act like your own skin.

Olay has gotten busy relaunching their skincare line this season and one of the biggest launches is a newly textured moisturizer that has a whipped mousse-like consistency. Both Total Effects and Regenerist come in this new texture which is marketed as super lightweight, fluffy, and quick to absorb. Don’t worry, if you hate the idea of a whipped moisturizer formula you can still purchase the old line as well!

Yes to Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal 2-in-1 Scrub and Cleanser Stick ($9.99) is just one of the “stick” skincare products launching this season. This stick cleanser detoxes skin and gently exfoliates it to remove dirt, oil, and dead skin cells for a clearer, softer complexion.

Yes to Coconut Ultra Hydrating Moisturizing Coconut Oil Stick ($9.99), see I told you they were skincare stick mad this season, is yet another stick skincare product that Yes To launched for Spring 2018. This one is a solid coconut oil moisturizing stick that can be used anywhere on your body or face that needs a boost of hydration!

CeraVe Hydrating Micellar Water Ultra Gentle Cleanser ($12.99) us top on my list of skincare to try as this micellar water contains a ceramide formula that not only removes your makeup but ensures your skin is soft and well hydrated after using it.

Which new drugstore skincare is calling to you at the moment?

Any not mention here I should know about?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Ooo… the cerave looks tempting!! I love me some micellar water, and most everything cerave seems to agree with my skin, so I’m going to keep an eye out for it!! Plus, it’s a biga$$ bottle of it! 😀

  • kjh

Yeah, the cerave. Will try h-t-h against Garnier blue top. No nemesis ingredients. I think that DS skincare should be exempt from low buy/no buy, right? Yeah, you might be trying s.t. new, but essentially it is a replacement, and it might be cheaper than what you are using, so save you $ in the long run. (I can rationalize anything.)

ohhh the Cerave looks good. The hydrating cleanser has been an HG for me for over a decade but ever since I destroyed my skin barrier and had to rebuild it my face doesn’t always like water.
The Burts Bees one looks interesting but their cleansing oil dried my dehydrated skin out like crazy.Maybe I could get a sample.

I just bought the cerave online. Only had 1 review, and they gave it 5 stars. Cerave is always a safe bet for me.

Give me all the rose stuff! I know some don’t like rose-scented products, saying that’s a “grandma smell,” but I AM a grandma, so that’s OK with me! Actually some of my very first memories are of the yellow roses that my mother grew and loved, so rose-scented products actually make me feel like a little girl again.

Thanks for often mentioning skin care items in addition to makeup. You rock. Have a wonderful 2018!

I like rose too and I’m not a grandma lol! Aww that’s a lovely story ;-D My pleasure dear! You as well! health and happiness for 2018 for yoU!

I’m interested in the Neutrogena Booster. I’ve been using the Clinique Moisture Surge Concentrate and I like it all right, but I don’t think it’s worth $40. The Neutrogena one is half the price so I might give it a shot. Also I love anything Cerave so I have to try the micellar water!

I hope you had a lovely Christmas Muse and that Santa was good to you, because you are nice!

Yes, I get into the skincare phenomena around this time of the year because of the post Christmas sales on in Aus. and as it is so hot SPF products are the name of the game.
I always get a new bottle of the La Roche Posay Ultra Light SPF 50 range and any of their skincare products on sale, as they are tad expensive.
Essano Rosehip skincare range is often a great buy at our budget beauty shops Priceline and Chemist Warehouse, as is the Swisse skincare line and Sukin Super Greens – especially the Chia Seed Oil.

I love the recommendations that you made Muse as these are excellent products at a very reasonable price. As skincare is an item that you go through a lot of, having HE products can become very (or too) expensive.

I just picked up the yes to coconuts sticks. They had a face cream that i loved, but don’t seem to make anymore. I want to try the burts bees and cerave miceller waters. I’m trying to take better care of my skin, but also not buy so much. I really love trying new makeup and skin things.
