Tarte Color Splash Hydrating Lipstick

So, you didn’t haul the Subculture Eyeshadow Palette when it originally launched because they drama was strong with that release wasn’t it? I actually ended up not having that many negative thoughts about it. It really wasn’t as bad as I had heard it was and I felt somewhat thankful for that after purchasing it a few months ago. None the less, I would have been even happier if it was $33 at the time versus $42!

If you want it, it’s available today on sale at Sephora.com! Now is your chance to decide for yourself if it is a nay or a yay.

Also, available, which I recommend, are Tarte’s Color Splash Lipsticks for $15.75 each. These are super creamy, pigment AF, and long wearing! Definitely worth exploring!

Happy Hauling!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Good tip on these wows. That Tarte is a super formula. Think I got the xmas set plus for or five others. Christine/Temptalia has virtually all the swatches, intragoogle-able, if anyone wants to make some shade decisions. Subculture is tempting & I love the look in pan, but just don’t want to have to work that hard! Saw a rumor/tease somewhere that ABH is doing a true cool palette in 18. We can hope…

So glad I waited and didn’t buy the ColourPop Golden State of Mind palette when it came out because I got it Tuesday on clearance and with an additional 20% off! Everyone was raving about it and I really wanted it at the time but decided I could live without it. Well when I saw it was on clearance with an additional 20% I was like: I NEED it now! 🙂

I was holding off on the Subculture palette but just ordered it where it’s on sale! Very excited to try it out!

I bought it on Boxing Day YAY! I’m very pleased with it …. especially since there was an additional 20% discount over the sale price!
I’m looking at it as a collection of individual highly pigmented shadows which I use with the same restraint as I do with loose pigment .
Sticking to colour families also reduces the chance of getting that muddy, blah grey/brown mess that others complain about.
So far, my only disappointment is that a single colour, greys out when applied over a “dewy” lid or when blended with deeper shades. It’s a minor glitch in a palette with otherwise amazing potential!
True the metallics are tricky but I quite like that they provide a sheer, subtle accent layered over other shadows. It’s a unique quality that brings a softer, ethereal effect that’s suited to daytime looks.
I’ll use all the colours, pairing them with other palettes & singles … but even if I only used a third of them, it’s still an outstanding value!
