Makeup News Briefing for the Weekend

Happy Weekend! I thought I’d start off your Friday with another quickie makeup news briefing because if nothing else the makeup world is never boring.

I’m happy to report MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ in Rose, Coconut, and Lavender have returned! If you’re a MAC Fix+ fan I’m sure this is exciting news for you. I’ve actually reviewed all of these in the past if you want to jump back into the archives and see what I thought of them! You can snatch them up at maccosmetics.com.

In other MAC news, their new Weightless Water Concealer is now available at ulta.com, nordstrom.com (Free Shipping), and at maccosmetics.com. For a hot flash it came in stock at Ulta and went out of stock but all shades are now available. I purchased it and will review shortly. I’m quite excited about this one and have hopes it’ll be nice and thin yet have good coverage! We shall see!

And finally MAC news bit of the day they have relaunched their entire makeup brush line with new synthetic bristles and they are available now at nordstrom.com.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer has launched in several brand new shades that the Internet is in an uproar. Age Rewind Concealer is withstood the test of time and has remained one of Maybelline’s best loved products since it’s launch in 2011. I’m still hoping they’ll bring back Dream Mousse Concealer at some point but I’m not holding my breath!

One of the most important bits of news this month would be the injection of the facial sheet mask into the US drugstore world. Expect to see more and more drugstore brands launching face sheet masks this year. Neutrogena, Pacifica, Burt’s Bees, Flower, Beauty, Simple Skincare, St Ives, and many, many other affordable sheet masks are heading to the US market! Let’s hope they are as good as Asian ones!

Do you have any makeup news to share?

Do let me know!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Isabella, have you tried the Burt’s Bees sheet masks yet? They have got to be some of the worst ones I have ever tried! I’m excited to find the Flower Beauty ones in store so I can try those.

All the MAC stuff is good news.

I haven’t yet but heard some poor things. What a shame!!!!!!! I’m looking forward to the flower ones too! ;-D

I am sad at the revamping of their makeup brushes. In general, I don’t like synthetic brushes and only use them with foundation or cream eyeshadows. I find natural hairs just blend better, though maybe it’s because I pretty much use only Japanese brushes now, which are ultra soft. MAC’s 239 brush is a favourite of mine, so I’m hoping it performs the same with synthetic bristles.

Do you know if they’re manufactured in China? I’m also going to be disappointed if they’re all manufactured there because I don’t buy cosmetics made in China currently and I don’t plan on starting to. :/

I feel the same way Christina. I like certain synthetic brushes but overall, I prefer natural hairs. Unfortunately, I’m unsure if they are manufactured in china, I’ll see what I can find out.

I know of several other MAC launches coming up like the MAC Jeremy Scott 2018 collection, MAC Lunar 2018 collection as well as a MAC Padma Lakshmi collaboration set for May 2018

Yeah! All exciting! I’m especially in love with those cute boom box palettes for J Scott! Also, the Lunar Year Lipsticks look amazing!

of course i just placed an ulta order while the new mac concealer was out of stock! i settled for another shade of shape tape instead. can’t wait to see what you think of the concealer…the foundation is my ultimate, reliable, HG, would-wear-to-my-own-wedding foundation so I’m very curious how the concealer will be!

I am deadly curious if it’ll be as good as the foundation let’s hope so 🙂
