You either really adore the shade or it might be too bubble gum pink for you. I actually like it a lot especially the blush products I own that It Cosmetics has created in the shade. Last year, I wasn’t much of fan of the It Cosmetics Rose Je Ne Sais Quoi Hydrating Color Awakening Lip Treatment as the formula wasn’t quite as nice as past lip products that the brand has brought out. This was a balm but the texture wasn’t quite all that great. When I heard they were creating the same formula in a serum lip product I was quite excited as I like It Cosmetics CC Lip Serum Hydrating Anti-Aging Color Correcting Creme Gloss which has a serum-like texture.
It Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Hydrating Color Awakening Lip Treatment Serum arrives in a 0.057 oz metallic pink slim line barrel. I remarked how much I enjoy It Cosmetics’ choice of packaging earlier today in my Lipstick Queen Dating Game Lipstick review. The packaging on these little lip products for the Je Ne Sais Quoi shade is always quite delightful. I’m such a girl because I adore pink.
This is a candelilla wax-based lip serum with other hydrating ingredients that give its a certain creaminess. It does in fact resemble an essence of a sort for your lips. The shade is a milky pale pink, with a runny texture that glides on easily from the small slanted applicator which has tiny wholes that the serum flows from when you twist the base. At first I was quite concerned about the color giving me a zombie look as it applies a paler pink on my lips. It actually morphs with my body chemistry and the customary bright pink Je Ne Sais Quoi pops out. This could be a deal breaker for some though as all in all the color is a hot pink shade that not everyone will love. I like it personally but realize it isn’t something everyone will love.
I thought the texture quite nice with an easy smooth glide on my drier lips. It feels plush and quite hydrating but the wear is a bit shorter as I felt the need to reapply it within an hour but during the wear it seemed to really sooth and soften my dry, cracked lips. I detected no flavor or fragrance in the formula.
