Smashbox Scented Primer Water But MAC Did It First

Limited edition Smashbox Scented Primer Water is now available in three fragrances of Centering Citrus, Serene Greens, and So-Chill Coconut but remember kids, MAC did it first.

In collaboration with youTuber Nicol Concilio, Smashbox relaunched their Primer Water in an array of three new formulas and scents. I was surprised. I felt for sure they might be going for a colorful, juicy palette for Spring/Summer 2018 but I was terribly wrong. Very wrong.

The new Scented Primer Water has the same 3-in-1 formula has the original that acts to hydrates, set, and refresh skin but it also sports a new formula infused with electrolytes. It’s like Gatorade for your face!

Of course, the idea of scented setting spray isn’t near by any means. In 2014, MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ arrives our way in scents like coconut, rose, cucumber, and yuzu. And just recently, MAC reintroduced a few of these fragrances.

None the less if fragrance in your setting mist are a must you might wanted to check out Smashbox Scented Primer Water. Centering Citrus apparently neutralizes negativity with a blend of blood orange and grounding grapefruit, Serene Greens keeps you calm with cool cucumber and melon, and So-Chill Coconut gives you “resting beach face” with a blend of coconut and vanilla. So, they act as an aromatherapy of sorts. I’m not sure setting mist is going to chill me out and keep me calm but I’m willing to try anything once.

The price remains the same on the Scented Primer Water formula which is $32 for a 3.9 oz bottle.

Smashbox Scented Primer Water is available for a limited time at smashbox.com and ulta.com.

“It’s like Gatorade for your face!”

Oh my gosh, between that and “resting beach face,” I am dying. Thank you!

I loved this review all the way up to the price. Ridiculous! But maybe it’s worth it to some people. I know I spend too much on things I really love. You might find it interesting to know that both MAC and SmashBox are owned by Estee Lauder.

AJ, just a note this isn’t a review, just a post about the new launch. I haven’t tried the scented ones yet, only the regular one which I linked to in this post 🙂 I know that EL owns both, EL and L’Oreal basically own everything LOL! No one else has a chance between the two!

I’m interested because I liked the original primer water a lot. I hope this will be available at Ulta or Sephora soon.

I’ve been using the MAC Fix+ in Coconut a lot lately but I don’t really notice the scent much.

I think the MAC ones were pretty subtle! I suspect Smashbox will be the same, could be wrong about that, but I a lot of people don’t appreciate fragrance in their skincare so I imagine they’ll go subtle with it.
