Clean & Clear Night Relaxing Jelly Eye Sheet Mask Half a Face Mask for Your Eyes and Forehead?
Clean & Clear Night Relaxing Jelly Eye Sheet Mask ($2.50) is a new jelly eye mask that hydrates eyes and targets fatigue around eyes to give you a well-rested appearance. Well, hell, if this wasn’t created just for me. I always look tired! Too much gaming? Reading? Computer at work? Old age? It could all be contributing to puffy, tired looking eyes!
I’d like to take a brief moment in time to simply say that Clean & Clear does not need to get into the entire Korean Facial Sheet Mask thing. Step back guys, re-evaluate this situation, and think really hard what your fans would really love to see you do. If you guessed bring back Clean & Clear Eye Make Up Remover you’re on the right track. You see, what actually don’t care your weird half hydro gel cheek mask that seems to target not only eyes but our foreheads. We’d much rather see you bring back $h1t that we loved and we know you excelled at. Like Clean & Clear Eye Make Up Remover for example.
In all seriousness, I’m truly done with US drugstore brands trying to succeed in the sheet mask world. You’re doing it wrong guys. I’m over it.
I think Clean & Clear Night Relaxing Jelly Eye Sheet Mask has all the potentials of a great mask but it fails a little in the design. This is a gel mask which simply means instead it literally has a gel-like texture which is slippery and wet to the touch. Unlike traditional cotton fiber sheet masks this mask has the potential to allow to moisture to bind your skin since it’s thinner which allows essence to sink more easily into your skin.
The mask is actually cut in half so it overs the entire top of your face from your forehead to your eye area. Genius!? YES! Actually when you think about it this is indeed genius! If only it fit correctly. Here’s the thing. Gel masks are notorious for slipping right off your face so laying on your back is essential to keeping them in place. They are slippery little suckers which will slide off and walk away by themselves if you let them. Gel eye masks are particularly a pain as the half moons fit nice and snug under eyes but again they tend to slip and slide right down your face. The fact this adheres to your forehead and than your under eye keeps it in place quite well. I LOVED the design and thought it was rather nifty. My problem was it had little flaps which you can cover your eyes with. This is pretty standard with facial masks but the fact you want this to adhere well under the eye area is the issue because those flaps get in the way for some reason and make the fit of the face under your eyes rather crappy. I just couldn’t get the mask to lay flat against my under eye area due to those pesky flaps so my forehead was actually get more benefit from the mask than my eyes.
It’s actually formulated with some very nice hydrating ingredients. Ones that will help your eye area to retain moisture however, it does have a good deal of fragrance as well which I thought was pleasant but sensitive users won’t adore.
If you remove those flaps you might just get me to re-purchase this mask because I like to multitask when I’m masking. That means reading, working on my blog, watching TV, or doing any number of things. This translates as I do not use those flaps to cover my eyes and sit around for 20 minutes while I have a mask on. Thanks but no thanks! Time is precious.
Cut the flaps and we might just have a deal and I’ll stop bugging you to bring back your awesome eye makeup remover too which everyone probably forgot about by now BUT me.
Clean & Clear Night Relaxing Jelly Eye Sheet Mask has great ingredients and a truly great design in theory that doesn’t quite work out the way it should and this is in fact where things went wrong for me. I liked the mask though and I’d recommend checking it out if you don’t mind laying around with your eyes closed for 15-20 minutes while the mask does its job. You’ll come out of the experience with nicely hydrated eyes.
