Maybelline Summer 2018 arrives today or you might call it a late Spring 2018 launch as some of these items give me Spring vibes! One of the first items to catch my eye are the new Maybelline Color Sensational Shine Compulsion Lipstick because hells yes, I love my shiny lipstick. L’Oreal is a bit ahead of the shine lipstick craze as they launched their Colour Riche Shine Lipsticks months ago but hey, I’m not complaining at all as I’m tired of mattes so give me all the shine.

Let’s take a peek at what Maybelline Summer 2018 has in store for us.

Maybelline Lip Studio Master Glaze Lip Scrub Stick ($7.99) is a chunk lip scrub stick which can be used to gently exfoliate lips with a sugar crystal infused formula that act to gently whisk away flaky skin. Maybelline, again, a little late to the game as Revlon Kiss Exfoliating Balm already brought us a version of this a few months ago! Along with this new scrub we’re getting a new Maybelline Lip Studio Prime It Up Multi-Benefit Lip Primer ($7.99) which seems a lot Urban Decay Ultimate Ozone Multipurpose Primer Pencil. With the endless array of matte lipsticks out there this is a handy tool to have at the ready to smooth lips and prime them for color. Apparently it also intensifies color.

Maybelline FaceStudio Master Prime Blur + Pore Minimize Primer ($9.99) joins the long line of FaceStudio Master Prime Primers already available with a new water-soluble formula that blurs pores and keeps makeup wearing long and strong.

For all the unicorns out there the new Maybelline Lip Studio Electric Shine Prismatic Lip Gloss ($8.99) arrives in shiny prismatic shades that provide an iridescent douchrome finish on lips with pearl color pigments that give a gorgeous sparkly to lips!

If iridescent isn’t your finish of choice perhaps the new Maybelline Lip Studio Metallic Foil Metallic Liquid Lipstick ($8.99) might capture your eye. This matte metallic formula provides a chromatic metallic finish on lips with vivid color payoff that give lips a liquid metal look!

Not loving metals or iridescent? How about glitter? Maybelline Lip Studio Glitter Fix Lip Gloss ($8.99) launches in six eye catching glittery shades that can be worn alone for a pop of sparkle or paired with your favorite lipsticks to create a gorgeous glam lip look!

Maybelline Color Sensational Shine Compulsion Lipstick ($7.99) bring color and brilliant shine to lips with a smooth, melty formula that hydrates lips with a formula that contains 60% reflective oils for a true, high shine finish!

Maybelline FaceStudio Master Blur Stick Primer ($9.99) is a new smoothing and blurring primer stick that prolongs makeup wear and blurs the appearance of fine lines and pores for a soft focus finish!

I’m so old that I remember when ‘metallic matte’ was well beyond an oxymoronic phrase. As in, distinct categories. But, god I loved the collection with gone greige, coffee addiction, etc. The dark red was TDF. I could go for some shine as well, but not nuts about the packaging. Not to mention that I’m so old that I remember when DS was not worth the look. How times have changed. The DS compete favorably, or even exceed HEs, at this point.
