Is there such a thing as too much pigment? The new Pur Cosmetics 4-in-1 Blush Book ($36) packs 4 super-sized, pigmented blushes into one palette. Best part? Pur Cosmetics has a BOGO offer going on where you buy one item and get the second item completely free (use promo code BOGO18). How can you go wrong with that deal?!

Pur Cosmetics 4-in-1 Blush Book arrives in a sturdy mirror-less cardboard compact which is a little bigger than a CD case. This packaging is fairly big so if it isn’t your thing no worries as the blushes have a little notch which allows you to easily slip the magnetic blush wells out and pop them into a Z-Palette or any other empty palette of your choice. Each blush is a whopping 0.29 oz in size! That’s a lot of blush for $36.

The blushes have a zigzag pattern that’s made up of three gradient shades that go from darker to lighter. I was a little tiny bit disappointed that there wasn’t an even amount of cool versus warm shades here. There’s a lot of cooler pinks but only a single warm orange-y bronze. I wish they would have included a peach as well but none the less this is a nice quad of shades.

Pur Cosmetics 4-in-1 Blush Book Swatches (Honest, Passionate, Determined, Loyal)

At first I was concerned that these might be frosty but they turned out quite satiny and lovely on me. I had to be very careful with them because these are crazy pigmented and quite powdery with a lot of dusky kick up but they aren’t dry nor chalky. The texture felt quite silky and smooth! In my photos below I went very light and sheer with the colors I wore because I was terrified I’d get a severe case of clown cheeks. Use a fiber brush and make sure to tap off as much excess as possible before applying. Truly they are pigmented as hell and not a single shade lacked pigment. I experienced no frostiness nor shimmer of glitter and the finish was a satiny matte on my cheeks with a smooth, even finish.

This is an outstanding palette but not for those of us with heavy hands. You have to be careful during application but a little caution will get you a lovely pop of color on your cheeks!

These blushes are really pretty, and I’m glad they’re mostly pink. If anyone is looking for a second item for the BOGO sale, the Visionary Palette is one of the best I’ve ever gotten.

I love blushes that aren’t just one color in the pan. Although, I bought a 3-striped blush from Kiko and there was too much of a shade contrast between the three stripes and it was hard to blend, even when trying to swirl the brush in the pan first. These seem easier? You didn’t get stripes on your face, right?

I was very into this from photos, but irl it’s too pinky/corally for me. I would K1LL for a fall toned palette just like this. It swatches gorgeously. The 40 y.o. or younger me would snap this up in a nano and pan it over the summer, but the shades just don’t go now. IRL I thought this was excellent quality, price, and variety.

100% ITA! I loved it all but I wish it was a little warmer! I’d have dug more peaches than pinks!

OMG, Muse, these are my exact thoughts on this palette. I took advantage of their awesome BOGO sale and this palette is crazy pigmented! I couldn’t believe it. Plus the fact that it is huge. You’re getting 4 blushes for $36 which amounts to a $9 full size blush. I was blown away by my purchases as I never really paid much attention to PUR. I also got the Visionary palette and after reading all the reviews on that one I can attest that the reviews are spot on. The eyeshadows are pigmented like crazy and the color selection is incredible. But yes, you need a light hand with this blush palette. I like that you can swirl it together or if you have more time, you can sort of get one shade of the pattern on your brush. Can’t recommend this enough!

I got the visionary palette too and was quite impressed with it. I didn’t get the BOGO offer but I honestly don’t regret paying the price as both were very satisfying purchases! Very impressive pigment and formula! I’m glad you’re loving these too ;-D

Thanks for the review, but right now I’m more interested on what the blue on your eyes is on the second pic. It looks great on you? Is it a shadow or pencil? What brand? Give me the deets I need this in my life.

Pur must be stepping up their game. I tried their eyeshadow a couple of years ago and felt meh about it. Maybe it’s time to give it another go! Their Visionary palette has been getting really good reviews…

they are indeed! A lot of their newer stuff is great!
