Revlon ColorStay Prep & Protect Primer and Revlon ColorStay Full Cover Foundation arrive just in time for the sunny weather ahead. If you’re more oily in the Summer as I’m prone to be the new Revlon ColorStay Full Cover Foundation ($9.79) might appeal! This is a full-coverage matte finish foundation with a comfortable finish that apparently moves with your skin which gives it a weightless breathable consistency.

I have this feel it might be a mousse-texture and in that case I do question how different it is from products we’ve already tried like it such as Maybelline Dream Velvet Soft-Matte Hydrating Foundation.

The thing that really caught my eye from this launch would be the Revlon ColorStay Prep & Protect Primer ($9.79). This is intriguing but a bit disappointing as well. First off, it’s a 3-in-1 formula that acts to hydrate and prime skin as well as protect it. Ok, cool! That sounds amazing but the fact it contains a lower SPF of 34 sort of disappointed me. I wish the SPF was a bit higher but still it’s an interesting launch for the brand. It’s formulated to not leave a white cast behind and although hydrating it also provides a matte surface for foundation to adhere too.

Sounds interest!

Revlon is releasing their Summer launches in slower batches than Maybelline and L’Oreal but this is pretty standard for them. I recently tried their Kiss Cushion Lip Tint but I suspect they’ll have some more gloss on the way soon for Summer.

What do you think of the ColorStay Prep & Protect Primer and ColorStay Full Cover Foundation?

I picked this up at the store the other day and i regret it. The coverage is medium at best, it broke me out something awful ( too much silicone ) and didn’t last on my normal/slightly oily skin. It is a mousse texture as you suspected and the shades do run light and initially it does feel heavy but then does dry down after a while to a semi matte finish. Just not for me, but i hope it works for others.

According to a review I read that cited the company, this is basically the repackaging of the Colorstay whipped foundation that was in a glass jar. I love the travel-friendly packaging, though.

Just compared the ingredients on my jar of Revlon Whipped Creme to Ulta’s ingredients listing of the revlon color stay full coverage matte. The ingredients are the same so it’s likely the same formula repackaged if Ulta got the ingredients listing right.

In which case, the formula does not meet marketing claims in finish, longevity and coverage. The whipped creme formula has a satin-matte finish (natural-looking). lasts about 8 hours if buffed in with a stippling brush before some fading without primer, and has medium buildable coverage but not full. it can cause breakouts on me too so I don’t wear it often.

It’s been my favorite DS foundation ever since it released and hopefully it is indeed the same formula just repackaged .
