Last month I went into my closet and realized I was down to my last bottle of Lush Comforter Shower Gel! Oh woe is me!
*sniffle* The last of Comforter Shower Gel!
T’was a sad day indeed! Instead of using it I tucked it back into my closet and decided I’d save it for a special occasion. I resisted as long as I could and finally I tucked into the bottle and as of last week it’s almost completely gone. This week I was planning a funeral for my last bottle when I realized that, gasp, to my shock and surprised that Lush US was offering Comforter Shower Gel! I think I heard the angels sing! This truly was wonderful news!
This is the first time Lush Comforter Shower Gel is available in the US! It’s original release was about a year and a half ago as a special LE from Lush Germany. Now this was indeed a special time as not even Lush UK had this available which is the source for all LE products from Lush! The Muse was lucky enough to nab six bottles of Lush Comforter Shower Gel thanks to her x-boyfriend’s sister, Leeza who was attending classes in Germany at the time! Yay!
No idea what the hell this says but I promise it’s good stuff inside!
I’m actually quite excited about this release as I recently got my Lush UK Perfume Party order which had my Lush Comforter Body Lotion and Comforter Perfume (review coming soon!) inside so now I can layer with shower gel, lotion, and perfume! Life couldn’t be better!
The moral of today’s story is you should be heading to Lush as soon as humanly possible and snatch up as many bottles as your cart can hold because a shower without Comforter in it is a sad shower indeed!
The Muse can’t believe she had to wake herself this morning from the food coma she was in after the long Thanksgiving weekend and roll out of bed to head to work. I think I need an extra few days to recovery!
I’ll be back shortly with brand new reviews in a few and also I’ll begin answering the load of comments shortly as well!
For now I’ll leave you with the first Cyber Monday deal of the day that I’ve seen! Get 25% Off at Bath and Body Works when using coupon code 25PERCENT
Get haulin’ now! The Muse thinks she might indulge in some socks and a new pair of Lambie Slippers! How about you?
Yesterday I was busy procrastinating and tweeting happily away with one of my lovely readers and we got to discussing Antique Bakery. Antique Bakery is a popular Japanese manga about four men that run a bakery/pastry shop. The story has since been translated into English and is available within the US under the same title. It’s been misconceived that Antique Bakery is a yaoimanga and it drives me batty whenever I hear this because it’s sincerely not yaoi in it’s true format. In November Antique Bakery was released as a live action film which the Muse is quite excited about as Kim Jae Wook is in it!
The moral of my rather long story is that cute bish?nen boys and cake are truly a marriage most divine! After discussing Antique Bakery I got home late last night and I remembered my discussion and I started rummaging around in my review box. Inside I finally located what I was looking for…and sadly no it wasn’t Kim Jae Wook but it was the next best thing (the Muse plans on running away to Korea and marrying Kim Jae Wook and having 2.5 kids but that’s a story for another day!)! A cupcake!
Indeed I was feeling inspired to review cupcakes after discussing Antique Bakery! Ummm Muse why do you have cupcakes in your review box?
Well this cupcake actually isn’t edible but more of the bath and body variety! I recently came across DelishGourment Bath Bakery Bubble Bath Cupcakes on the Bath and Body Works site. After cruising around BBW I decided to Google up Delish and see what the story was!
Glad I did because I came across their rather awesome website which has a pretty extensive array of awesome bath bombs shaped like evil little cuppycakes that are too tempting for mere words! I actually have three of Delish’sGourment Bath Bakery Bubble Bath Cupcakes to review for you! Yay exciting!
Since I was in the mood for a warm bath last night I decided to slip a Delish Candy Cane Kisses into my bath tub! Although these promise to sud up they actually don’t create masses of bubbles but more of a moisturizing foam. They fizz, pop, and sizzle around your tub while lightly scenting the water with a sweet peppermint fragrance. One of the things that absolutely thrilled me to bits was the fact that it turned my bath water into a ridiculously bright green shade! I felt like a little kid splashing around in all that green water! I was slightly worried all the dye would create a major ring around my tub but it washed away simply and easily. Unlike Lush Bath Bombs these are very subtle in their scent and aren’t overpowering. They also last alot longer and fizz for a good 15-20 minutes before disappearing completely where as Lush Bath Bombs fizz for about 1-2 minutes. It’s quite nice to have such a long lasting fizzing treatment in the tub! If you want you can crack them up prior to placing them in the water but I just sunk mine in whole and watched it twirling around as it fizzed. They are pretty big so if you’re want to cheap it up a bit you can probably get two baths out of one cupcake!
As I mentioned I tried Candy Cane Kisses last night and it’s a very soft, sweet peppermint scent with touches of vanilla and cake! I also have Sugar Plum Fairy which is a warm spicy scent with touches of cake and Birthday Cake which smells exactly like yellow vanilla cake! Mmmm! Each “cupcake” is decorated with icing, sprinkles, and bright colors eluding to it’s scent! For example my Candy Cane Kisses had white frosting, green “cake”, and cute red candy cane sprinkles! Each cupcake is themed in color and design to compliment it’s scent.
My green bath water hehe!
I got a real kick out of these and thought they’d make lovely stocking stuffers or gifts for the Holidays plus the price isn’t at all bad! Bath and Body Works was offering a few separate sets and single cupcakes but now only has a duo available. I guess they sold out quickly!
The good news is you can still grab them directly from the Delish Gourmet Bakery website by visiting www.delishbath.com
Each large cupcake is $6 USD (about the size of my fist) and each mini cupcake is $3 USD. I haven’t tried the mini cupcakes so I can’t attest for their size however the large cupcakes are quite large and well worth the $6! The cupcakes are available in a slew of “flavors” like Very Berry and Hot Fudge Sundae, each decorated and looking like a real cupcake!
You can purchase DelishGourment Bakery goodies online of course but they also have “bakeries” located in a few locations around the US. Check out this page for further details about where you can locate a cuppycake or two!
The Muse can’t help but Muse Approve these for purchase! She loves the cute details on each cupcake, the inexpensive price tag, the funny little novelty of a cupcake bath bomb, and of course she thinks they’ll make an awesome little gift for friends or family!
All the fun of a cupcake without the calories? Likey! Only problem is I have to keep reminding myself I can’t eat these! Sometimes looking at ’em makes me hungry!
Check below for other fun Bath and Shower posts you may have missed!
The Muse doesn’t drink. A majority of most alcoholic beverages kinda taste like nail polish remover to her so she avoids liquor like the plague plus the Muse drunk is always a rather silly sight and we all know the Muse is SO not silly! Seriously now! So indeed she does avoid alcohol like the plague and sticks to her drink of choice, tea.
What’s that? How do I know what nail polish remover tastes like anyway? Well duh! Obviously all cosmetic junkies know what it taste like! Stop asking dumb questions.
On the bright side the Muse does fancy an occasionally flute of bubbly and berries. Champagne and Strawberries were meant for each other.
You know last year the Muse happened to fall in love with Philosophy Bubbly Three in One Shower Gel and although it didn’t contain the berry it sure did bring the Bubbly! Sparkling, crisp, and beautiful were simply some of the things that were pure perfection about Philosophy Bubbly.
Philosophy decided to step up it’s game this year and created the next best thing to Bubbly….How about Philosophy Berry Bubbly! The Muse thinks nothing goes better than Strawberries and Champagne so how about Philosophy Berries and Bubbly…Mmmmmmmm sounds like a master plan to this Muse!
Although I love Philosophy Bubbly with a passion I must say that a little something extra special is contained inside Philosophy Berry Bubbly and it tops off an already great recipe and makes it pure perfection.
Philosophy Berry Bubbly starts with a fresh, sparkling, effervescent citrus base which tickles the nose. This is quickly followed up by the faint scent of sweet strawberry which combines beautifully with the sparkle of citrus to create a true to life Champagne and Strawberry scent that’s pure and fresh! Philosophy deserves a major award for creating a perfectly sparkling experience with Berry Bubbly!
Please don’t think that the scent is reminiscent of any blend of champagne and strawberry you’ve tried before because it’s completely different and unique! It’s has a certain sweetness with a full on citrus body that can simply be called sparkling! Philosophy managed to capture the “bubbly” effervescent of champagne and put it in a bottle!
Philosophy Berry Bubbly can be used in your shower, in your bath tub, or wash your hair with it! It’s three in one you see!
The Muse nabbed her bottle of Philosophy Berry Bubbly from QVC and believes as of now it’s exclusive to them however like last year I’m pretty sure you’ll see it pop up on Sephora, just renamed and repackaged!
If you can’t wait and absolutely need your dose of bubbly and berries head over to QVC and punch in Item Number A86879! This one is Muse Approved for you and for gifts! QVC has a special deal at the moment which allows you to purchase one Berry Bubbly for $18.24 USD and each additional bottle for $15.24 USD. I ordered 6 bottles…two for me and the rest for gifts as these are super nice for gift giving and the price can’t be beat! I highly suggest nabbing these before they run out and have a wait list!
Philosophy Berry Bubbly will be making a guest starring appearance under the Muse’s tree this year!
The Muse’s entourage of English friends have always tried to convert her to the glories of the chocolate orange but the Muse safely steers clear of anything that combines chocolate with fruit….yak…..no likey. Some things go together well but the Muse thinks chocolate and fruit are NOT a marriage most divine.
In the case of the glorious Orange Chocolate the Muse refuses to partake and believes that Terry is actually an alias for the devil because the only place an orange chocolate could come from would be hell.
All yur chocolate oranges belongz to me! *insert evil laugh here* Source
Even though the Muse hates Orange Chocolate she knew she must put away her keen dislike for the evil that be and test out the new Lush Chocolate Santa Bath Bomb. So the Muse struck up some Captain Jack and decided to climb into her bath tub!
No, not this kind either (although my bath tub is always welcome to the likes of this Captain Jack)
The Muse needed liquid courage to face a bath tub full of Chocolate Orange and since she doesn’t drink the only other option was vintage Billy.
Turns out Lush Chocolate Santa was a rather relaxing, calming experience and although eating chocolate oranges is off this Muse’s list she actually won’t mind purchasing a few Lush Chocolate Santas to fill her bath with! Although Chocolate Santa doesn’t have a very strong, lingering smell like many Lush Bath Bombs I still managed to enjoy my bath with him and recommend grabbing a few for stocking stuffers and of course to spoil yourself with!
I’m not going to go into great detail how a Bath Bomb works since I’ve done so before but just in case anyone doesn’t know here’s a quickie How To from the friendly folks at Lush:
Now as I mentioned Chocolate Santa doesn’t have a very strong smell which could account for why I liked him so much. He smells like a sparkling mimosa with tiny bits of chocolate thrown in and a faint, soft underlay of vanilla. He fizzes happily away as you bath, softening your water and skin while leaving your hair and body softly scented with a citrus chocolate blend that’s very pleasant.
Lush Chocolate Santa sizzling away happily in the Muse’s bath tub! (Apologies the lighting was really low in my bathroom when I recorded)
Lush Chocolate Santa is shaped, yes you guessed it, like that rolly polly, pink cheeked guy we all know and love, Santa!! Lush was really intricate about the details on this bomb as their Chocolate Santa has his famous suit, boots, belt, and bag of treats for good little Muses!
Lush Chocolate Santa is available for a very limited time so best snatch one up before he’s gone for good! I’m actually headed over to Lush UK right now to order 20 of these little guys to stash away in friends and family member’s stockings and of course a few more for myself as it turns out Lush Chocolate Santa isn’t evil like Terry’s Chocolate Orange! Lush Chocolate Santa is available now for $6.95 USD! Click to grab yours!
