With so much chatter about Holiday Collections, I had almost forgotten that it’s still very much Fall! In honor of my favorite season I slapped on a little Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Sugar Skull this morning and proceeded to inhale deeply, reminding myself about all the good things that the Fall brings.
Sugar Skull happens to be one of my very favorite blends and I’m always so delighted when it makes its reappearance each year. If this is your first time reading about the Lab and their Perfume Oils I urge you to read my introduction so you can learn more!

So you wanna try a Gorilla out but not sure which one is for you, well, not a real Gorilla obviously but one of Lush’s new Gorilla Perfumes. Best way to do it? Grab the new Gorilla Limited Edition Fragrance Kit from Lush for $12 bucks and away you go!
I recently read a review on the new Lush Gorilla Fragrances that basically said they had a stinky hippie vibe going on. I nearly burst out sobbing.
Noooo! Simply not true! I think you have to be a Lush lover to really understand the Gorilla Fragrance Collection. Granted, some of the blends definitely lean towards earthy and in some cases stinky hippie for sure but NOT all of them. I thought some were downright unique and interesting, all the things Lush is, what Lush stands for.
So no I disagree, these are definitely not all about the stinky hippie vibe. I slay anyone who disagrees!
It’s probably too early to be thinking about fragrances for the Holidays. I’m still on board with the scent of spicy pumpkin and fresh apples but…in the makeup and fragrance world the Holidays are pretty much here full on. BPAL already introduced their Yules, you should check ’em, they are doing the Nutcracker this year!
And most important, Christmas, wouldn’t be Christmas without a little help from the Bath and Body Works Signature Collection. Would you believe me if I told you Twisted Peppermint started out life as a shower gel not as a body mist? How did we live without it?!
My first introduction to Lola was when I was a mere babe and my parents had this monster cabinet. Inside the cabinet was an 8-Track Tape Player, yeah, my parents are obviously old and stuff, and a record player. On an old 45 (those are what smaller records were called way back in the time of dinosaurs) was Lola. She was a Show Girl.
No, but seriously, my first introduction to anything Lola was a Show Girl that Barry Manilow sung his little lungs out about. These things stick with you well into adulthood when you’re exposed to them as such a young age so now anytime I hear Lola I simply think of that tune and my foot starts tapping and I have a sudden urge to burst into song.
Now Marc Jacobs Lola has that Show Girl vibe with a big giant flower decking its bottle topper and I can’t help but thing of super fabulous Show Girls (not the washed up variety, promise!).
Are you a Marc Jacobs Lola fan?
